50's already. Suppose to be low 60's here. Beautiful day, no clouds, bright sunshine. Trying to spend sun up to sundown outside, been slowly cleaning garage and drinking coffee since 630. Baby was up all night, going to have to give wife a break at some point today so sadly my plan won't work. No fire, house is at 68.

The Allagash is a nice stove. Nice to have it on its own thermometer cause it doesn't need a seperate power source. Good to have a stove that will prevent pipes from freezing if we are gone for a few days during the winter and we lose electric. DSC01523.JPG

This Allagash is at my parents house/ the family cabin up in Tomahawk. It was i installed this past summer by a place out of Wausau iirc. I have no idea how they set up the power, but I'm sure they could easily plug it onto the portable generator to have heat. It's pretty slick with the flame options, the dimmable top light and the fan. It really cranks the heat out. When the ceiling fan is on, the heat distributes really nice to everyone on the couches and chairs in the a frame.

They had a lopi endeavor wood stove in that spot, and nearly put a pellet stove in that spot, but they liked the no hauling of wood or pellets, and remote control with its own t stat.

I lit my first fire of the season yesterday morning. It was in the upper twenties outside, and 52 in the house. I lit her up again this morning and again tonight. Morning and evening fires for a little while and soon enough burning round the clock.

Right where I want to be.
OAT down to 42, so I put a few small splits in. Doing smallish overnight fires, and usually morning fires now.
Another day or so of decent temps, then we're on a downward temp. trend. Must be winter on it's way, eh?

39° and dropping down to 30°. Pine and maple fire burned down to embers at the moment. It'll still be warm in the house for most of the night because the wind died down. If it picks up again I'll be restarting at 3am.

Currently 38°F dropping to 25°F with a chance of a frozen mix. It's rained, sleeted, or snowed everyday for 2 weeks now. Amazing the constant changing conditions. I love it!

That's what some are saying, but our November temps are supposed to be above normal. We'll see what really happens, but it looks like real winter won't hit until December at earliest.

I hope so too! Can't wait! Some of the splits i unloaded today are huge. I'll need to split them in half. Will give me a chance to get a few moisture readings.

Plus a chance to give those unidentifiable splits an Eric VW sniff test. :D

29 this morning and clear. Suppose to go to 54! Looks like a great day to work outside! I have Ash, Pine, and a little box alder in the boiler mix this morning.

Currently 22°F headed up to 48°F

Will be picking up the last load of wood and hopefully getting some racks together to store it.
