With all the fancy electronics we have now, why can't we just make Sunrise be at 7am every day??? Problem solved !!! ...
...............and the band played on................ I've been walking around all day a hour ahead of myself.........feels really stupid
Get yourself one of those Atomic Watches. They will automatically change the time for DST, and I have also noticed when you pass from one time zone to another, it also changes automatically. They make the Atomic watches, and home clocks to operate that way, so the only thing you would need to be concerned with would be the DVD/VCR player and the Stove if it has a clock on it. Yes, I have the atomic clocks/watches, and my watch is Solar powered too. (Too bad I rarely ever look at my watch, or any clock other than the one on the stove! I finally changed it at around 4:00pm)
So when I walked the dog just before 5:00 this afternoon, and it was dark, I was reminded of just how dumb this whole thing is.
I'm also retired, no watch. Somehow my skin breaks down with every watch I try to wear. So, no watch, Just look at the cell phone if I really want to know the time. Sort of given up being in any hurry.
I wore a watch my entire working life, had to have it. I wore it a couple of weeks after I retired and that was it and that was 12 years ago. I just look at my phone if I need to know, but half the time I don't know what day it is
I have been retired for better than 10 years and I DO still wear a watch. It helps with timing different things be it whatever is in the oven and I'm out of the house or simple things like calculating how many gallons will run through a one inch pipe in one minute. (Since 100 feet of one inch pipe holds 4.5 gallons and a 5 gallon bucket will get filled in 23 seconds, how long to wait until 800 feet of one inch pipe filled with water empties) Or how about timing how long it takes from first starting a fire in the stove to when the stove top reaches 400 degrees, or better yet, 500 degrees. (the quicker the better) Then there are doctors or other appointments (I quit seeing doctors of any kind for anything back in 2011) or picking up something at a specified time. Or, a certain store closes at 5:00pm. It's 4:45pm now. It takes 12 minutes for me to get into town and another 4 minutes to get to that store. Should I go? Probably not. Or, if I'm at the back of the house and hear a vehicle stop on the road in front, then a few seconds later leave and I want to know who it was and what they were doing, but can't get around the house to see, all I need to do is look at my watch to see the actual time. Then later while I'm in the house I can review the footage from my security cameras for that particular time. So while I don't tend to look at my watch often, and my life doesn't revolve around time, I do still use it. Who knows, maybe if I had a cell phone, I might use that instead, but that won't happen since I hate those things.
Don't worry, WW....I haven't witched the clock above my workbench with the 6 tape measures lined up along side of it yet either. No need to rush into it, I feel!
My cleaning lady now knows my secret hiding place where I hide my ONE measuring tape and the clear packing tape and duct tape Oops, dont tell 99 I do that, might give her ideas
is it not wonderful..... no need to be anywhere........ and USVI do not observe daylight savings time
yeah yeah yeah.....and they don't have blizzards and below zero temps for weeks at a time and wind chill and.... Hey, just how much are houses down there anyway?
