After last season I put a new door gasket on my cab50. Test fired tonight for the first time since and I can see light between the gasket and the stove where the door closes on top. Question is will the heat expand the gasket and seal or should I replace it again.

Just to add this, I bought the Rutland gasket kit for my stove, seals tight all the way around but about 3 inches on top you can just see light from the flame

The heat will expand the metal (door and frame) not likely to seal did you get the correct gasket size? They come in many sizes. Does the stove provide for door adjustments?

I agree with STB. If you can see fire, then it's the wrong size, or improper installation .

I always bunch it up so it's thicker. Rather than stretch the gasket to make it thinner.

After removing the gasket and comparing to the new, it seems I got the right package wrong gasket. New gasket sealed the door and first fire of the year in going.
