Maybe just pop the tag off that 044 cover in the box there Beau and ship it to him?

I'm assuming that is an aluminum I.d. tag, I can only do stainless and mild right now, so stainless it is (unless we're shooting for pure ugly junkyard dog with mange or in this case rust) , just let me know what numbers/letters and that should be all I need, you could send me one of you've got a junk one laying around, it'll allow me to make an exact size/shape with rounded corners to match.

I'll be honest - I would love to see a mild steel tag that I can artificially cause rust/petina on. The doesn't need to be absolutely exact, as long as it's close to those dimensions I posted. Anything close should work just fine. Also, if you want to you can just leave the corners square and I'll round them off appropriately when I get it.

How about mild steel plate stainless filler rod, or vice versa, it'll leave the lettering permanently rusted/less rusted due to different material make up, it might actually look super cool!

I'll probably end up just sending you one of each, I just need ideas for lettering, any suggestions from anyone are welcome. Feel free to put a twist on it, from fhc monster to stihl 044 to anything, get creative, for whatever reason I'm drawing a blank for something that could be super unique

Copy that. How about everybody who is checking out this thread throw out some ideas and we can start a poll? This isn't anything special, but I'll start it out with simply "FHC"...

I've also procured a set of new OEM bearings and traded a healthy pile of 084 parts to the builder to cover the transformation into the official FHC Race Saw!

    This is a great project!!

But without parts or money ? Beau is going to be out a lot of money returning the parts he already has for this build.

We've came together and bought some great saws for some great members!

Surely someone has some good parts or a few bucks to send to [email protected].

I have the clutch cover, fuel line, fuel filter, washer, e-clip, and 7 pin sprocket. And may have a muffler.

I still have the aftermarket cylinder if needed. I know OEM is preferred . But something is better than nothing. I had a nice D style Cylinder. But sold it.

For the name plate, fhc motoraxe? Probably not much longer than that. When would you need the plate by? Obviously it cash be one of the last things but I work better on dead lines

I think that sounds awesome SWDH! Realistically, for the model plate I think it'll be awhile before we need it. We still need to procure all of the parts, I'll need to build the saw (lots of youtube videos and perusing of owner's manuals), then it's getting sent to Washington for mods, and then back to me so I can . . . um . . . make sure the treatment worked...

Okay, just let me know when your getting close, I'll keep an eye out for a couple scraps of material and if we can find a gooder name we'll throw it on. Also extra treatment testing may be needed, I wasn't going to say it but hey, I can find a pile of wood down by the dump I'm sure:p:rofl:

I think you should name the saw and have that name welded on the tag. Then you can say stuff like "Hey guess what....Jethro (or whatever you name the saw) will be at the next GTG.". Or "Jethro is a mean ugly summbiotch."
