OK fellow hoarders.. My wife likes nice smells.. we have a 6 quart kettle on top of Woodstove for moisture.. But the question is what can I put in water to scent the air.. I tried cinnamon, cloves and ginger.. but all they do is mess up the kettle! what do you guys use for scents?

There is a local store that sells it. I think it around $3 for a small vial.

So is this be a kettle fer kookin in or just smellifying? A nice slow cooked batch of little smokies smells good or some sauerkraut and sausage. If you have a sacrificial kettle maybe try some crushed pine needles in water or the rinds off citrus fruits in water.

Essential oils can be found on Amazon or other online stores. Heck, you can find them at Wally World in their candle section (and in ready made blends of 2-4 different scents). Essential oils work much better than the spices for scenting up a room.

Orange oil is nice, cedar, balsam, frankincense, rosemary (one of my favorites) etc. Be careful if you get clove and/or cinnamon oils as they are very strong so don't use more than a drop at a time (and immediately wash any skin that comes in contact).

All of those I gave you were scents "appropriate" for the autumn into winter season. Now, if you (ie - SHE) want something light, Ylang Ylang is really nice (be careful, it is light - but intense) or even just some lemon (essential oil, not juice :D) or Bergamot.

Vanilla mixed with lavender is always nice and relaxing. As is pure Sandlewood - or Sandlewood mixed with vanilla.

yeah I did a nice beef stew last weekend.. kind of a slow cooker thing... IS STT was around 250 for close to 6 hours and it came out great.. I think her point (I know I am going out on a limb trying to guess what a woman is thinking) was sort of why can't we make this floor smell nice all of the time... so I am looking for Easy...

I love that scent - but I also like WD40 scent too. Does that make me strange :wacky:, or just weird (as a female) :loco:
