Got home from cutting. House below 70° Checked the stove, it was time for another load. Got down to 9°f last night. was 22° when I got home. Loaded & got it roaring, cat glowing , blower on. house warming up now.
I stuff it before I go to sleep usually, and sure did last night, was in the 30s. Difference is I'm using some semi crappy wood so it works well for this phase of the season. After a few weeks though, I get into the "good stock" of red oak and maple for the rest of the winter.
Now that's a LOAD!!!! Cold in Alaska.............warm in the lower 48. Twas 71* Sunday, 59* yesterday and it's in the mid 50's now. The weather liars are calling for mild weather here for at least the next 10 days. No major weather changes predicted.
Updated forecast: Rain for Saturday, 43° Now that will hit roads, that are 10° to 20°, turn to ice A "stay at home day" for me
This AM New load at 1230 Was gonna empty it today but with warm temps coming , I'll wait a few days Should get me thru to tomorrow morning.
It still seems way too early to see a load like that going into a stove! Can't you back off a little? Please?
