Thanks, but no, normally I couldn't write mahself outta a wet paper bag...musta been high on pie on somethin that evening...
So, after getting back from downstate Wed. night, I took Thurs. off to recuperate, but got out today and did some stacking. I expect the kid (and maybe his helpers) might be back with another load this weekend, so I want to get this pile up off the ground. Proof is in the pudding................these are 12' long sections.
Came back in the house for a break, and some dinner. I have a motion light above the shop door, which is about 20' or so across from these stacks....I thought I might try stacking by that light for once. I did a little more, but the light isn't as bright as I'd like. Total should be just about a cord. I'll get out in the morning and finish if it's not raining.
I got a text too, a guy I got ash from before has 2 face cord of ash all split wants $75 , I have to pick it up but it's only 5mi
So, another text yesterday telling me he'll be here in a couple hours with another 3 "cords" (AKA, a real cord). Took him over 3.5 to make it and it was fairly dark, but no big deal, as we unloaded with the motion light shining. All Red Maple this load. He said he may be back today or tomorrow with either Beech or Ash, or a mix. Cool. Finally getting back on track.
Got out a couple different times today and got 1/2 of this load stacked. Feeling much gooder about winter '18-'19. I'm going to resplit some of this. Got some huge-ish chunks. Rec'd another text that he won't be back until tomorrow. I can wait.
The weather's about to change, but I'll still get out and stack, unless it's pouring rain. I won't melt in a light rain.
