Supposed to get about 8" here tonight. Should make for a fun drive to work tomorrow. Last time we got that much they didn't plow my road for 4 days.

There are about 50 power line service trucks parked in the WalMart parking lot around the corner from my office. We're expecting 2"-4" of snow tonight then 1/2" of ice in the early morning. I guess the power company is anticipating major power line damage with the storm coming tonight.

Lucky who???  I just did an 11hr shift and as soon as i got home the boss called to inform me we're back in at midnight. We're so low on salt at work, we started mixing in a sand/dirt mix just to gain some tonnage and our supplier has no idea when we'll get another load. I usually like winter but this one is wearing me down fast.

I don't know what we did to tick off mother nature but she's sure angry with us.

We ended up getting the dry line in the KC metro area. Ended getting about 4 or 5 inches, probably a couple more by the time the storm winds down...

We are about 50 kms. north of the edge. Saying anywhere from a dusting to nothing for us. Farther south from us you go, the more that is supposed to pile up. Good luck to everyone, stay safe.

Our forcast here says 5-6" until about 2 a.m. then sleet and freezing rain until 5 a.m. then back to snow with several more inches. I may have to just tend the fire because I am not going out to look at wrecked vehicles and wreck mine in the process.

BrianK is southwest of us here and they are supposed to get next to nothing......we, on the other hand, can possibly get up to 12-20" (looking at several different models of the storm).
All dependant on the upper level temps. I sure hope the icing doesn't get too bad. I hate seeing trees snapping all over the place. Not good.

Stay warm and safe fellas. Hey, if I wake up and there is 6-8" of snow on the ground, I'm playing "sick" and staying home to play with the snowmobiles!!!

I'll trade you a half inch of ice for a foot of snow any day. Our National Weather Service forecast as of a half hour ago is still calling for 1/4" to 1/2" of ice accumulation:

Our schools are already canceled and my office is closed tomorrow.

We've got an inch of fresh snow on the ground and it's a total white-out here right now......it's coming down harder right now than it has in any storm this year so far......

I certainly hope that we DON'T get any real heavy ice accumulations....the hit we took on Thanksgiving week put a hurting on the treetops up on the mountains around here...

It's been snowing hard here for the last hour. At least we'll have a good layer of snow under the ice. That will make it easier to get the ice off the sidewalks, cars and parking lots.

Like watching the snow come down so thick you can't see far
But comes with problems if you have to get out right away.

Leaves are all gone now, water should be down too, shouldn't be as bad.
Maybe you'll build a good base for the snow machine :) :) ?

Should be a fairly dry snow at 24°
Be a good day for the kids to have fun if school gets canceled :)

5 - 10 forecasted here. I won't mind if we get the low end.
Have only a few driveways to plow these days.
