Greg, you are so correct. True professional tree service contractors are the best contact. I met my guy at hockey when my son was playing in elementary school. Dave and I have enjoyed a great referral relationship over almost 20 years. I refer him to jobs and if they want him to remove the wood I get it. Provided it is good and not buggy. He told me he has to be careful with diseased trees because of DNR regulations. I have gotten some great wood in between two houses in the middle of the city. The roots were playing havoc with the foundations. Clean up is paramount. Their reputation is how nice he leaves the yard.

Awesome score! Looks like youd hardly need the splitter for that stuff.

I'm a little jealous about all these deliveries but I suppose ma nature has already sent plenty my way this year. She tends to leave a little more of a mess though.

When my buddy showed up I was splitting with the Fiskars. It is easy to split. I will leave some to finish up with the ax. I do like the hydraulics more than I thought.

For 32 plus years I split by hand. Then I bought my first splitter, It has become to me what a rifle is to a Marine. My rifle (splitter) is my friend.

Got most of the ash pile done. Cherry still to go. I might have another pile from him when I get home.

Nice! I'm thinking green ash for the thick ridge stuff, maybe some White pine, and red or silver maple on the hollow one.

    Nice mix!

On second thought that pine is a tough call from the pics. I thought the bark looked like Norway spruce but the branches seem too large and uniform - more like a true pine.

Either way, I'd mill that! Looks like a nice crotch on that ash too. :D

If we lived closer I would give it to you to mill, but I do not have all the neat tools you have.
Thank you. My wall is getting there. Starting to feel like I fit in.
I'm thinking tax return in a couple of months my equal a nice used splitter.
They do, but they have been so busy there drop yard is full till winter. It seems to me dropping in my yard saves them fuel money. I'm thinking I should just buck my 2nd load and move it so I can get another load before it gets sloppy out.
