Come on Ray, if he is going to paint it pink, at least make it a hot pink. Then add black pinstripes for accents. Dave could always say it is in support of breast cancer awareness.

I don't know about that, I could handle using a pink splitter, as long as it's "HOT PINK". :D Who knows, maybe it would be a babe magnet. That is babes to operate the splitter, after all I am a married man.

Today I welded the top of the lift together. Now I need to put on the hinges and attach it! IMG_20140207_171921_148.jpg

I have two ideas one simple a manual boat winch the other electric an electric atv winch! Honestly I havnt decided which I want to use so I am going to try them both out. There will be a bar bolted through the bottom of the beam with another welded upright on the top will be the winch.

Pete, word of caution on the cordless winch controls. You have to allow 2-3 seconds for it to start or stop moving. You will not have very good control with it. Right now HF has the 2,500# Badland winch on sale for $50 with a wired controller.

that's good to know bro thanks I already have the winch is in my garage however.I got both of them for free so I want to try them first.I'll probably go ahead and buy a wired controller I'm sure I can figure out how to wire it up.

I hate to say it but again a new winch with controller is probably going to be as cheap as just a controller unless you build your own. This is why I "share" a controller between two different winches. One of these days I will build a controller but until then ....

Well fellas after not being able to work on the splitter since Feb ( insanely busy ) I am getting ready to go at it again this weekend. I have two lid hub assembly's that I am considering using as the lift hinges because they are so strong but I have to figure out how yet:D
