I took a trip to the farm and back in the old k10. Can't do my mileage cause my speedometer reducer died and I pkuged the cable directly to transfer and haven't done the math but the odometer is not right nor is speedo till I get a new one ordered. But looks like a solid 10mpg. Haha

I was towing. It was a light trailer on the way there about 2500 and even lighter on way back.

I think I have gotten as good as 12mpg if I baby it. I have done a comeplete tuneup and new filters so I am curious to see if it changed anything. But have to wait till I get the spedometer adapter gear

What does the factory fuel and DEF cap attach with? Does it screw on, push in?

Around 4,000-5,000 miles per tank (8 gallons if I recall).

DEF is screw in. Diesel is a push in seal.

Seems odd. First I've seen anything other than the various plastic screw in types. Wonder why they made the change?

They are aftermarket anodized aluminum with seals and magnets to stick to the inside of the fuel door.

When I bought the Green diesel one, they sent two for some reason. I shouldn't need another (may need to replace the rubber seal in a few years). So I figured I would give one to my buddy Machria because we are Ecodiesel brothers!! :)

if you ever get DEF in the diesel do not start the truck. This is not the best design to stop an accident from happening. I have read of it happening, it will clog the injectors up. You need to drop the tank and flush it out. I have heard from one drop of DEF, never have confirmed.

    Nice to know though!!

I'd rather the system do it itself.

In a couple years I'll by the EGR delete system. There is a forum out there and several people have done it. One guy with a Jeep Grand Cherokee and that little SUV chits and gets.. And blows a little coal!!

Any figures on when these little diesels usually need a set of injectors?

That engine has been out for about a decade? So do some research and you will find out. Been in the Ram for 3 years now. Plenty of owners have around or above 200,000. One guy has around the same amount of hours at idle than under load. The truck keeps hours of idle, driving, and total.

Figured it was easier to ask you sine you have done the research already. Figured it would be quicker than reading forums I blindly clicked from google.

Thanks for the answer. I wasn't trying to infer or say anything, it was just for my own curious nature and knowledge.

All the videos and reviews, I have yet to read anything about injectors. I wasn't trying to be rude. Just saying I don't know myself.

I haven't seen anyone having to replace injectors on it. Probably never need it unless you use some dirty fuel.
