I voted. I got my Ideal Steel in early October 2014. One of the very early ones. I would be curious to find out how many of these (IS) stoves they pumped out of that factory. Can somebody ask when you are there?

I'd like to hear some sales stats when I go. I'm sure Lorin will oblige me if I ask.
She likes FHC, we have sold them a lot of stoves.

OK, changed my vote to include the AS. We need Oldhippie to add his AS...

Don't need to fix what ain't broken!

Sometimes I wonder if many folks just got to have the latest greatest even when it comes to woodstoves. I mean if your starting from scratch sure pick out whichever fits best but if you have something good and working and don't really need to upgrade...

I have gone through a couple other stoves but the upgrade was more required as they were not capable of heating what I needed.

Geez I'm feeling left out. I even did the big nearly 50 hour burn with the IS for you guys, what more can a guy do to get some attention around here. :emb:
Just kiddn of course, carry on, got my vote in. Just cleaned out the flu for the first time too, a bit more in the chimney than the old stove but still not bad at all for a year of all the slow burning I did.

Voted for my Keystone I bought back in 2010, it's serves me well. This is my 3rd Woodstock stove, also had a Fireview and a second Keystone in my basement before going to gas.

I'll also say I'm not a big fan of the way they have gone to steel. I would of rather seen a Franklin style with stone on the outside similar to their gas model or a box style like the Jotul Black Bear.

I hear ya on having doubts with steel Todd, I parted ways with a Jotul Oslo to make room for the IS. A whole bunch of research and open eyes on the beta testers was what sold me. Since then WS has not done me (or other IS owners) wrong, they stand behind their products and have us back to the factory to share time with other stove owners. WS stoves really do sell themselves

Just curious what leads to the doubts about steel?

Just want to be clear, I dont think their steel stoves are bad, I just don't like the looks compared to their traditional stone stoves. I'm sure their steel stoves are great heaters, no doubt in my mind.

Todd, I am glad they did as the steel is significantly cheaper than the cast iron, fit my budget better, plus my house is post and beam so wife wanted the custom art work on the IS.. I agree I do not want them to stop making the cast iron soapstones.. they are beautiful! but more options are better

I see, curious where you are at in Western Wis. I'm in LaCrosse area and I have had an IS for about 1/2 a year.
