On Friday my throat felt a bit scratchy. Saturday it did not change. Sunday was a different story. It's become much more. In the late afternoon, I became very tired and my throat hurt more. Taking this as a sign I went to bed early.

I woke periodically through the night due to my throat bothering me. Several options have been explored.
    1. Hot tea with honey.
    2. Hot water with just honey.
    3. Motrin
    4. Sleep

Now I lay here awake with my throat hurting, and can't go back to sleep. No chance I'll be going into the office today. My son had this for most of last week. UGH. I am not suppose to be able to get sick.

Cant "like" that. Are you covered with some sort of sick leave system?

Here is a picture of Phil Collins to speed up your "recovery"!

That don't sound fun at all. My wife got me onto gargling with luke warm salt water, seems to kill the throat infection. I always double up on vitamin c as well (I already take 1k mg per day)

Feel better. The 3 year old woke up with a fever and runny nose yesterday. By last night, I was the same. What's funny is that it's supposed to be almost 80* F today. Doesn't feel like cold season...

For a sore throat I've started drinking a hot toddy before bed:

    1 cup boiling water
    1 shot bourbon
    1 slice of lemon
    1 tablespoon lemon juice
    1 tablespoon honey

No kidding! I don't think I got sick once from the time I was in highschool until I was 30. Then when I got married and got a 5 year old stepdaughter in the deal I started getting the big things like the flu. Now with a baby in daycare EVERYTHING hits me! My wife and I were both sick for 3 weeks in June with some sort of nasty cold. Who get's sick in the middle of the summer?!!

Fortunately it is rare to get a cold here. Not good when they come and I hope you get over it quickly.

Odd thing is that ever since on went on the Bi-Pap machine at night, I don't get colds. If I start the sniffles during the day, the next day they are gone. my machine makes me breath deep (pressure set at 18-16) and it has a nebulizer on it. I used to be misererable once or twice a year. I did get bronchitis once since being on the machine. I used to get it every year.

I had a C-Pap that gave me a sinus infection that lasted six weeks before I had to get sinus surgery to get rid of it. Afraid to use it ever since.

That is unfortunate. My problem is I stop breathing when laying flat. My oxygen saturation drops down to 67%.

I hear ya. I have sleep apnea and I sleep on my side or stomach. With the machine I did sleep on my back. I stop breathing too and the C-Pap forced air through my nose to keep my throat open. Slept like a baby with it, but I'm too freaked out to get another infection. They make some new sterilizing thing to help prevent it, but I still will wait to see.

Good luck with yours. Glad it works for you.

I had a really bad chest cold while using my C-Pap. I've stopped using it. Though the negatives of not using one are bad.

This cold has gone into my chest. Ever since I had a bad case of the flu followed by double pneumonia, all of cold see to make their way into my chest.

Steer clear of kids and don't let your body run down. It is a tough decision of whether to use one or not. It's such a great invention, but not without its positive and negative side. Keep healthy!

Steering clear of three kids is difficult at best. Next to impossible most days. As for preventing the body from getting run down, you are spot on there. I've gone well over a year plus without a cold. I mainly attribute that to better hygiene, and sleep. Unfortunately the sleep is not great when you are suppose to use a C-Pap machine.

On Weight Watcher's I can tell you that I am eating a great deal better. My vegetable intake is way up. Though still off from day to day.
