He found his on sale with a bent roof panel for 899 ( I didn't find him that one ) it is the one that sent me on the hunt for mine though.
Well ! I guess you have been busy Pete Great find, your diligence paid off That's Gonna keep your wood nice n dry and snow free ,with no tarps Put some pallets up there for roof support Although, My parents had a metal shed ,heavy snow never bothered it
It's actually going to be my wood working shop so I can clean the garage out for the cars. I can barely walk through the garage right now I have been debating a camping / fishing wood stove in the shed though.
Thanks Gasy its gonna be my wood shop the garage is full of wood working tools and auto tools. My radial arm, table saw, big work bench, mitre saw and router table are going in there. Lots of hand me down tools I just can't part with from my father and grandfather. Grandpa was a shade tree wood worker and darn good I wound up with lots of his wood working tools. There will also be a small wall tent wood stove going in as well. Yes I am totally addicted to wood burning up here in the cold Michigan winters...
Wish I was in a place with colder winters. I would like to see more snow but not so much and so long that I loose stuff that was not put up, for all winter.
I love winter ! Let's see....... I have lived in Southern California spent a ton of time in Florida & Texas but I always come back home to the snow and cold There is no better place to be than in front of a good hot wood stove on a really cold day looking out the window at home.
Today I added flashing I found for $1.10 a piece in 10' sections at the Home Depot to the base. Siliconed the snot out of it and the screws to ensure no water coming in under the shed. I made the classic arrow shed mistake apparently by making the base 1" larger than the shed track which caused about 1tsp of water to come in under it I went way overboard to stop that !
Nice job flashing in the base, Pete. That'll definitely stop the wet floor and any rushing and rotting issues.
Thanks Al hopefully that's the case and it stops the water for good ! A tsp is just to much for me Seriously I couldn't sleep knowing any water at all got in.
Apparently the flashing was just in time ! It rained hard all night and there isn't a drop of water inside. I must say metal sheds are a lot of work to install but its very nice to have a workshop in the making. Thanks for the complements guys I wish you could all come over and see it hang out and meet each other !
Just a thought Pete but it may be a good idea to ground this metal shed if you will be using power in there.. Ray
