I took this week off of work, so I could help my wife get ready for the sheep. Today I finished bucking up the limbs from the trees we took down, with my newly minted saw buck. Holy mackeral, the buck + a ported MS461 with 25" bar, sure makes the work go fast.

I also finished bucking up all the trunk logs. Again the 461, with an assist from the orange 543XP.

Somehow, I'm getting ahead nicely on the glamorous felling and bucking, but the grunt work splitting and stacking is lagging behind;)

Nice work! Yes I have to agree that the chainsaw operating is a lot more fun the running the splitter lever!

Long bar is more efficient. I can stack more in the buck, so more sticks per cut

We are putting the final touches on the paddock/pasture today. Part of it was moving the enormous boulder with the tractor :D

Leaves are turning, but temps supposed to hit 80 most of this week. I love this season, wish I had time to enjoy it during the weekdays

Grass is growing. Next project, a little barn/shelter. First we had to grade out a pad. Then layout some pressure treated 4x4's.

Today was framing day. Most of the 2x4's came from a tulip poplar I had sawed up this Spring.

You guys are doing a great job mike bayerl ! Sheep will be fun. We have been thinking about getting a few next spring. We will have 2 new calves in March so they won't eat much grass so the lambs could help with that. We have goats that eat the weeds so need something to eat the leftover grass. We had 2 1 year old steers do that job this year and it worked great. Plus we have a couple freezers full of beef for our efforts.

    Have fun with them!

I took another vacation day from work and wife and I worked on the barn. I got all the roof framing done and we started to put up a little siding around the bottom. Still have to put up the metal panels and gable flashing for the roof and hand the rest of the siding. Should be done before the end of the weekend if the weather cooperates.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

We are getting Icelandic sheep, so we can use them for meat, wool, milk and to sell for breeding stock. Yes, wife will mess around with some of the wool, but we plan to sell most of it.
