Caffeine going down. I should get out and work on the barn. But we are suppose to get rain today, and we need to do some visiting with family and friends. So today will be a day to relax.

image.gif I guess I should take one of those days while I'm on vacation.

Can you order online and then pick up at store - or call it in? That way someone can gather it all when they have a chance, or when more people are there.

Yup the problem with a home vacation is there's always something to do but the upside is you feel like you actually did something afterwards!

The wife forces me to relax at least one day during a vacation by handing me a fishing pole and then it's all over!

    Enjoy the visiting Gas!

Larry we found out that financialy lowes isn't doing good. They laid off a bunch of people quietly near us. My friend works the contractor desk and I guess that's the only reason he isn't laid off. We went in and the place was empty of staff a few weeks ago! I don't know if that's a franchise issue or company wide but that is why no ones around at our stores.

    Pallet Pete,
Interesting comments on Lowe's. I have notice the same thing. The Depot and Menards the parking lots are pretty full. Lowe's, I can count the cars driving by. Something is up. I don't like them because everything has a "installed price" right next to it. Not good for my business. I somebody wants me to install a storm door they go to Lowe's to look at a door and then see the installed price, then I get, "why are you charging me XX when at Lowe's its, XY." Plus, their employees pick up side jobs from customers in the store that I sent there to look at a product. Never again. My customers go to Menards... Like John Menard says we don't compete with our contactors. So, for now that's where I'm at.
Just needed to vent a little. sorry.

I was so irritated when we where looking at shower installs I said why the ----- isn't there anyone here and finally found my friend off helping somebody in the plumbing area! He isn't supposed to leave the contractor desk but according to him ( no names ) he wasn't supposed to but does anything they need now and the layoffs where quick and quiet! He isn't supposed to tell me that I guess but we go back 20 years so....

I can usually wave cash and haggle a little at HD and Menards especially Menards but I havnt been able to get lowes down on much and usually they say they are already rock bottom or get annoyed that anybody would even attempt to haggle... Its large items only that I do that on..... I got HD down $200 because I waved cash on my friends splitter lowes acted like I had gravely wounded there pride... I only go there because I like supporting my friends job.

Lowes closed nearly all of the stores in Wisconsin a couple of years ago. Like 2 years, iirc. I think there's only one in the Milwaukee area now, and it's a long way away for us.

Edit, there's only 2 stores in Milwaukee now. Both are much further than the 4 miles to go to home deathspot.

Yeah, it was a good game, despite the final outcome. I didn't like the ref's calls though. There were several key instances that decidedly went the buckeyes way. The only 2 main calls that went Wisconsin's way were clear and obvious. Outside of those 2 dead ball calls, everything went Ohio's way.

The Badgers are still very very good, and I think they'll meet up with another good team at Indianapolis for the big 10 championship game.

Morning all...dogs for walks, groceries shopping and washed my car all before 7am. I was on a roll!

Even made some Cherio bars for the Sunday School kids before church.

Got an awesome present today at church...the Sunday School teachers gave me a hand written thank you card from the little munchkins this morning for the treats.:)

Off to take the dogs for a run around the wood piles before I take my bride out for her birthday today.

Hope everyone has a great day...or least can make it a better day for someone else.

Our Lowes is humming right along as always. Parking lot is about a third full most all the time. They have their skilled staff on weekdays. They are 40 hr employees. (I asked) Our Lowes is retooling the store. They have had staff in there 24/7 this past week rearranging everything. Weekend staff seems to be the Part time staff, and not enough of it for all the customers they have. We have an HD, but no Manards. Lowes shut down two new stores here in Maine. One was in Biddeford and one in Ellsworth. Bad location in Ellsworth. Biddeford's Lowes was in a Mall that hasn't done well at all. Many big stores there closing. Too bad about them not doing well. Not noticeable here, but then that is just here. I don't go out of state much at all.

No, to be honest, I just parked it and have not looked at it.

I'm putting more effort into getting a new bike at this point. But even that is going to wait until spring now with all of these awesome 2017s coming out.

I'm guessing a tranny part. That's all it could be. Tranny grenades have happened, especially on early TLS's. Mine is a very early 97, first year. I just have to keep my eyes peeled for a TLR or TLS motor. There's a couple for 800 on eBay and other sites. But I think I can find a better deal.

I researched sv1000 motors, as those are a little less $ , newer, and more common, but there is a major case difference between it and the tlr/s. So that won't work. The TL cylinders can be put on a sv1k, for a nice power gain, but the cases are different enough that they won't be interchangeable.

Getting used cases alone for my bike would be possible, if the tranny wasn't such a complicated assembly.

So, I will keep looking for used TLR or TLS motors or crashed whole TL R or S. Keep your eyes open for me .. I'm willing to get one shipped from anywhere.
