Yup the $1300 truck lasted us 18 months. The wife drove it home and said it had no oil pressure:headbang: she didn't think to stop and shut it off... :hair: o well not bad for a $350 purchase and parts $1300 invested was a good deal.

Blown rear main and so much blowby you can see it come out the fill tube. I'd put a motor in but that's just too much time and effort for right now:whistle::whistle:

We are now on the hunt for a new vehicle and so far we have been lucky and talked to a few very honest salesmen ( pretty rare in my experience) what we buy we shall see! IMG_0656.JPG

That's a shame, Pete. Good thing is that you did get your money's worth out of it.

Have you dropped the oil pan and inspected it to see if you have metal fragments or shavings in it? If not you may be able to use a wire and pull the new rear main seal into place and get a few more miles out of it

In order to get the pan off you still need to pull the engine up. Its an undertaking I wont do one again.:whistle:The 4.3 might be better I cant remember but the 2.2L has the main support for the front right under the pan and it is a solid piece of frame. :headbang::headbang:

Its cooked though no question dang thing sounds like a coffee grinder lol needs new valves and to be lapped out as well as I am almost positive the head gasket. The amount of oil blowing out everywhere is amazing:rolleyes: I havnt seen one that bad in years.. Just time to go....

We did stumble on an amazing deal tonight for a southern trailblazer zero rust low miles, new tires ect... Very clean Im gonna go get it tomorrow :dex: The salesmen answered the phone right away and was willing to meet us there:thumbs: Pics coming.

I found one for $1400 in very good shape but I don't really feel like doing an engine swap. Lots going on in the pallet household these days... The new job means my wife and I drive separate to work now so it's time to retire the truck and buy the wife a much nicer ride ( that can haul firewood too) :D

OK, time to educate Mrs. Pallet Pete; two things you always shut off the engine for; no oil pressure, high engine temp. Some things you might can limp in on but those two is a no no.

Sell it most likely I was going to use it as a makeshift tractor shed roof but I really don't have room.. its also got a good plastic bed liner.

What I'm really considering is cutting the frame under the cab and making a bed trailer.

It's not a truck but it's a woodhoulee! It's not small but it isn't big! It starts with a T!!!:D

Yup she felt aweful when I said why'd you keep driving! That's as far as I went I walked off for a while I'm not mad at her and don't want to take it out on the wife it's an old truck. I could probably have fixed it but the s10 has more than paid for itself since I fixed it up and brought it back to life. We put 30,000 miles on it in 18 months I really didn't expect it to last that long. The truck was pretty beat when I dug into the engine.
