If you have never seen a David Bromberg performance live, you owe it to yourself to go to one when he comes to your neighborhood. He is fabulous. Bromberg My Own House.jpg

Thanks Will, sorry I've been gone.. been busy riding my scooters and trying to grow grass during a major drought. When your biggest problem is your grass is brown that things are pretty good. :)

Pretty much what's up. I'm almost done picking up and cleaning up outside and ready to move to a slower winter pace. Although I've now been at the gym 3 mornings a week, and I inted to ski this year, so even winter will be pretty busy. But I always enjoy the change in seasons.

Duke and Trane.jpg Duke Trane 1.jpg Here's one I picked up recently. I bought it used off the bay but it was literally brand new minus the cellophane. The seller told me he picked up a full estate collection where the guy bought collectable albums, played them once and then used the resulting mp3 he was able to build to replay it.

Thos one is a keeper. Coltrane and Ellington using the 'Trane's band.

The wife and I took a trip into Cambridge one day and I visited my favorite restaurant "Thelonious Monkfish" and shopped at my favorite store which is right next door. Cheapo Records, one kick-azz record store. So for the last 2 days I been playing these gems.

The food is great at Monkfish, kind of a Thai menu with just the right spice, always with great jazz going on. They have live jazz every Thursday through Sunday evening.

The record store has been there since the late 60s, but it wasn't really a used record store, at the time it sold new records, and some stereo equipment. Today they must have 50K records in that store and I don't know how the floor doesn't collapse. I'm still buying CDs too, along with Blu-ray discs for concerts, but I still love to get down there and come back with a armful of records for usually less that $25 bucks.. 5$ ro maybe up to $7 each.

Outside doing the last of the stacking with this on the boom box.

Such beauty in this album. I'd never say "this is the best" Dylan album to any single album, but this is certainly in the "Essential Bob Dylan" list. Nashville Skyline.jpg

Last weekend I found this on Netflix. Its long (3 hours), but a great documentary on a top songwriter/musician.

Tom Petty was a bad azz in his own way. He took on the big record companies more than once to get back was was his to begin with. Nevermind his songwriting, music, collaborations with other legends

Yesterday the new Kings of Leon album was released. I checked it out while doing my buying yesterday. Good chill rock.

They also performed on the tonight show last night.

    Hey buddy!!

I've got that 2 DVD set and it is awesome! Lot's of background history from many people close to Tom over the years, and Tom himself, as well as many videos and back-up material of his albums, videos, tours and concerts.

    He's the real deal.

    Hope you are well.
