Gift for arborist friend, curb side pin oak, 4 trucks and 2 trailers, and headed back tomorrow night. Driving out neighbor wanted small dead pine taken down and offer nice tip to cover our expenses for night
Very nice. But I must ask, with all due respect knowing you are a professional, why no PPE? I guess I'm concerned from the standpoint of any mistake can be critical and some things just occur without warning, whether it be an ocular injury or worse and that any and all PPE equip is cheaper than medical care. Maybe I'm just cautious but was curious-no criticism is at all intended or implied-I enjoy your posts-Take care.
No offense taken. I'm not pictured and I wear PPE. Helmet, ears and full shield, cutting pants, i have never been able to talk my cutting companions into anything but gloves. Even bought hats for them, but only one of the group will wear em. But I'll keep working on them
Got it sir-I have friends the same way...the cousin I referred to in my recent "First cut and cows" thread is the same way-scoffs at any PPE-we've dropped over 40 trees in the last week and all he wears is steel toes while I look like the Michelin man-thats ok though-t0 each his own and I hate doctor visits-glad you look out for you and yours...Saw on my friend!
Hey Eric VW thats right-Its all about choices from beginning to end...So glad I chose this place...so many good people its like extended family...and I appreciate you my friend...my next door neighbor
Yep. Good stuff will go to firewood pile, and will likely need quite a while to season. No one around here uses pin oak for lumber. Uglies will just get noodled down and go into OWB some cold February night. I have been making 1x8 inch cookies for wedding center pieces. Might take some of the clean round limbs and do that with them, but otherwise, all firewood of some kind.
