I use Lightning Nuggets to light anything, and especially anything related to food, as they use food grade paraffin as their binder. I get their 350 bulk pack and sell them to people that get camp wood etc from me also for 5 bucks a dozen. Campers buy them too. Been selling some Swedish torches also and I use them to drop down the center hole to start them. Swedish torches from pine do well, but I am now making them from cherry, as I think they will smell great and work just as well. Have to stack them out for a good long dry first though.
You talkin bout ol grandma? She's a workhorse that's for sure! Cranks out the heat, decent burn times and actually pretty clean! This is the inside of my pipe about 4ft from the top after a full season last year.
We have to be some of the most sadistic people on the planet. (I mean that in a good way.) We spend all of this time, money, and labor to create giant perfectly stacked piles of split wood and get excited to set all of our hard work a blaze just so we can go out and get more wood to to do it all over again. Some would say we need therapy. With that being said I have had a few overnight fires but I am really looking forward to the 24/7 burn cycle.
Unfortunately my stacks are ugly and in need of help this year... havnt had the time until recently to do much. I need to do A decent amount of splitting and stacking yet and the snow is a coming...
