360 pounds +/- about 120 pounds each, 65 lbs of burger, the rest steaks & roasts Guessing a 3 year old bull. Small & tender ( split 3 ways)
Nice haul! I almost always cut alone as well. Occasionally family comes with but I enjoy the solitude. I didnt get into any birch this year unfortunately, maybe next year.
Thanks Oh yea It was 22° when I got to the cutting area this AM. Couple days off, slow leak on trailer tire, Go thru clean/maintenance on stuff. Road was frozen going in then thawed, a muddy , slick mess on the way out. Was told there's some stuff higher on the "honey do" list
Ive been getting that to so Im planning a mix of honey do stuff while plotting my next cutting day before the weather hits. I did the gutters and next is the Christmas lights and then play time!
Some nice looking stuff great work. Looks like some straight grain . Sure will make splitting easier..

I take my wood supply for granted I guess, all of it is close (5 miles or less). Not sure I would trust my old pickup for hauling wood 35 miles.

Nice work Dave. Good to take a couple days for maintenance and other things. Gives the muscles a little rest too. Then you can go at it again.

Think I was tired when I figured the truck gas, was $35 for 2 round trips Did one round trip, $15 for gas, & was $2.48/gallon Brings my cost way down,
That sounds better on the fuel cost Dave. You can keep the snow for a while yet. We'll be ready for it in another month. Chilly now with frost predicted (34 degrees) then warming up again.
