I thought I would show the locust I scavenged before I got sick. I hope to get back to more scavenging once I get my transport back to running. Not bad for a couple of old locust on the ground; most of the wood still sound. I think I cut some of that a bit on the long side. I need to get out in the shed and work on the car, I only have one vehicle to drive.
Don't worry that much, no matter how many vehicles you have, you can only drive one at a time! Yeah, looks a touch too long maybe? Just wiggle them sideways into the firebox.
Northwest, Southeast? Are you crazy? The compass in my head is spinning about, round and round......I'm confuzzled.
That is true, unless you have a doppelganger; however, I don't think I do. The problem is if I need anything it is too far to walk; I thought I needed a 1/4 " drive deep well 10 mm socket but I managed to get it with a standard socket; had to torque the plenum and one corner had a stud and nut. Just barely grabbed the drive part of the socket and it was medium pound-inch torque.
Yes, hopefully they will fit corner to corner OK. That is why I posted about the measure stick, some good ideas there. I have yet to make anything.
I had a load of larch this year that I used my bar as a guide and half of it ended up being 20 inches instead of the intended 18, no idea how I was so out. It was only 1/4 of a cord so it didnt take long to cut it down to size back home but it reminded me why I measure. I prefer to cut it to length only once. Its safer that way as well. Good to see you out getting ahead. I get big loads and small ones. They all add up!
