First fire!!!!

Getting through some 2014 cut boxelder maple right now. Not the best wood, but I am doing the fire dance!!!! Seeing this pic, can't wait to take the baby gate down!

 

Yeah it burned pretty well. Dried surprisingly light, but still had enough coals this morning for a re-ignition (which I didn't do since it was like 75 in the room already).

I'll have to post some more pics on the "whole operation" later. I was going to edit a short video together on how I do things at my place from splitting through stacking, staging and burning wood.

I almost had a fire yesterday morning, it was 62 in the house but the sun warmed it up quick.

 

Very nice setup. I too just lit my first fire last evening.

 

I try to wait as long as possible, but my wife bought a parrot a few weeks ago and "it doesn't like the cold".
