    Got in 2 trips
    Good wood, less windy there so straighter & taller +
    less old/big stuff so not hollow or rotten in the centers.

    Moose came in today
    One was there just at daylight,

    Young cow snuck up on me while I was running the saw

    84 miles round trip
    2 trips, $70 truck gas ($ 35 per trip)
    permit $10 per cord
    $45 + saw oil & gas
    Guessing near $50 / cord with splitter gas.

    Back at it again tomorrow :)

    $50/cord minus $10 because you like to cut your own wood
    minus $10 because you are out in the wood with the wildlife
    minus $10 because you get to pick the tree you want to drop
    minus $10 because you can still play with the stove and show us pictures
    so it's about $10/cord so not too bad at all, keep cutting

    Congratulations Dave. That does look like a nice spot. With the trees being taller and straighter plus less rot, this sounds like it will work out very well indeed. Glad you have moose there too as that makes the cutting go really nice. Here we have deer.

    Again, I really do like the way you made that trailer and had been wondering if you'd still be able to use the atv to bring the wood out to the road. Glad it has worked out and you didn't have to ask that musher to haul the wood out for you. But it would have been a good workout for the dogs!

    Work hard and build up the muscles so you can swing those clubs before long! How much meat did you end up with off the moose you got?

    That birch looks just like the one I cut and split earlier this week. When that is green, it is really heavy, at least for this 69 year old.
