    That'll pull a 24, no problem. Probably even pull a 28 ok.

Good to hear. I'm sure I'd get along with it fine then, my saws are Poulan Pro 4218 and 5020 which some people say are under-powered for the bar they come with...I get along fine with 'em...I'm not in timber sports competition here! :D

A strong 65cc saw will have no problem with a 24" bar/full chisel chain. Has enough oomph for a 28"/skip tooth regularly & a 32" on occasion if needed.

I just talked to the guy, he buys/sells/repairs saws for a hobby and right now this particular saw is out on loan right to a customer whose Stihl he is repairing...he is supposed to call me in a couple days when it comes back...I'm thinkin I may go look at it...he said it looks to be a low hour saw that he bought it as non-runner, it just needed an ignition coil...that brings up another point, beings this saw is probably 30 years old and made in Sweden, I wonder if parts are readily available and/or priced reasonably?

There's lots of parts for those saws out there, eBay is a vintage saw owners friend!!

If you can get that for 80-125 bucks or so, that's a great deal.

Even his asking price is more than fair. Those were good saws

I don't think you'll be disappointed with that saw honestly. You ain't gonna touch a good modern 65cc saw For That Kind Of Dough.

Steer clear of that big husky, it's a 576, lots of bearing and crank failures on the 575/576 saws. You'll be happy with a 24 on that Partner, bulletproof old saws.

I'm not saying they will all fail, I will tell you that I've seen 7 with bad cranks. I have a buddy that swears by his 576, I just know for that age of saw, with the number of saws I work on, I shouldn't have seen 7 with bad cranks already, seemingly all pretty low hour saws too. I've seen the exact same thing with the 311/391 Stihls as well.

If you lived a little closer I could help you out with that.... Seems like every time I buy a load of saws there are a couple 041s in the deal. I sold like 20 of them to one guy a while back. I still have plenty...

If one of the 041s happens to be a Super, I'd buy that before the Partner, the 041 Super is a pretty mean machine for an old magnesium saw.

That's how it all starts.....it's all down hill from here. If you've never been around one of those Disston 2 man saws, you will soon see why it has a helper handle, ain't no one man going to run that saw. Those handles on the back...think rotor tiller. They are beasts. In fact, heavier than most rotor tillers...

I've never ran one but I can imagine the weight. My pap and family had a two man mall as their first power saw wish they would have kept it.
