Yep. Note I did not say, or imply, "every time" or "every cop." But it happens far too often for sure.
In the context of the picture..... if you draw on a cop, you get shot. And you should. If you have beef with the police, hire a lawyer after the fact and get rich instead of getting dead. It's really pretty simple.
My concensus on the whole arrest thing is basically, whether it's a crooked cop or not, when you draw a weapon on them, you're an instant felon in the eyes of the law. Do the smart thing, dont resist and let them arrest you. The truth will come out. Good cops far outweigh bad cops, and let's face it, these guys put their lives on the line for us every day. In an effed-up world where everyone is against them.....especially the media...
I agree anyone who draws on a cop deserves whatever happens. It's incredibly stupid to draw a gun, or even run when you're told to stop. But...I'm not going to give cops a free pass either. They really don't have that dangerous of a job. They are more likely to die in an auto accident, just like the rest of us, than be shot in the line of duty. They are more likely to commit suicide, just like the rest of us, than be killed while on the job. And they don't do much for their public image either. My daughter has had one interaction with a cop when I got pulled over for speeding. I was polite (my wife can verify this) yet he was such a prick to us he made my daughter cry and my wife tear up. Apparently having a pillow in the back seat meant my daughter hadn't been wearing a seat belt, and he grilled a 7 year old girl, trying to get her to fess up because he wasn't satisfied with my answer that she always wears a seat belt. For the next 6 months whenever she was with me in the car and she saw a police car she would gasp and duck below the window. That's her opinion of cops now. I could say that's "just one cop", but I'd say a good 80% of the officers that have pulled me over have been jerks. I promise, I'm polite and nice because I know being a jerk myself doesn't do me any favors, but if I'm treated like the worst kind of criminal for going 74 in a 60 on a sunny day with no cars in sight on a 4 lane road I can't image what it must be like to get stopped when you've actually done something wrong. Body cams should be on every single LEO. And the video should be available to the public upon request.

What amazes me is everyone standing around watching and this chit still goes on! Edit : everyone as in all the cops standing there while he has a non department gun out and then plants the gun on the suspect. Someone had to see him do it.
Hmm, nothin political here. Two separate truths have been stated, that pointing a gun at cops (like everyone else) is dangerous, and cops are not angels, they lie sometimes (like everyone else).
Me too. On that note... In general, I can't blame our enforcement officers for being on edge right now. Our social situation is tenuous is certain areas of the country the way I see it. Our current election process is not helping. The camps are entrenched, not much sway between positions at this point. There are entities that are so emboldened that they are making and pursuing outlandish ideals. Strictly one-sided thinking. Last officer I was pulled over by was really cool. 'course I kept my hands on the steering wheel as he approached, and kept them there when I nodded my head towards the passenger seat. "Is it loaded?". Me- " Wouldn't be much use if it wasn't." Ruger Alaskan. He just said OK and did his thing. Would I expect the same reaction if I was in ATL? or Detroit? or Salinas Ca. (my home town), certainly not. Police are there for a reason. Until they get a grip on the situation, obey their commands. Then it get's worked out. Pretty simple in my mind.
I'm pretty sure I see where you're coming from and I understand. My only thing is good officers watching bad officers do their thing and not saying a word about it. This in my mind makes the good officers bad. If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem kind of thing. I've been pulled over many times and haven't had any real issues. Always do as the cop says. Some are a holes but most aren't bad. They bring their cruisers into the shop to get fixed. So I see them there. They're people just like us. They make mistakes just like everyone else. That still doesn't make it ok to cover up for a bad cop. I don't cover for a bad mechanic. If he messed something up I let the shop figure out how they want to fix it. I don't want his bad workmanship to go out under the same shop name. That's why I don't understand why these bad cops are brought forward from within the department.
