Had a few minutes to kill this afternoon so got out the tools and started splitting . Kindling that is. Fifteen minutes later I am out of wood out of beer and out of time.
That's were I was headed after clean up. Thanks looks good now but was brown just a few weeks ago. Thanks it's my get away from the world spot. Love to get lost in working the place. Estwing makes the best hand tools out there. And who wouldn't like a tool called Fireside Friend. It's the end of a 500 gl. propane tank. Girl a few towns over from us will cut one up to most any shape you want. That's the size I use it. Two layers then a few small splits and the torch gets her going.
Looking good, I love those old copper boilers, I have several of them for firewood, but the wife has commandeered them for shoe bins at the front and back door of the house!
Ah yes, many of us still use kindling although most of us could get the fire going quite easily without it.
