Any feedback on this chain? I prefer Stihl branded chain, but use a lot of Oregon-all full chisel 3/8" non-safety chain. I usually can get the Oregon for 50-70% of the Stihl price, and am satisfied with it when you factor in the cost savings.
How does the Bailey's compare? I see they have a special now-10 loops of 20" chain for $100, with $10 shipping. If it compares favorably with Oregon, I'd be inclined to stock up.
    Thanks for any comments.

I have used several loops of it. It's like Oregon chain. It may even be made by them I forget all the details I have read over the years. I liked it.

That's about the price or more than I paid from loggerchain.com about a year ago when they had Oregon on sale. I think 20" loops were $9.99 delivered free.

I want to say it is Carlton chain, which is made by the same parent company as Oregon.

Ive been using it. Try as I might to tell the performance difference between Woodland and Oregon - I can't. It is Carlton last I got it.

I believe too that is Carlton chain. I myself prefer the Oregon chain and like the same chain that the OP was referring to. I like the way sharpens on my grinder also.

I have a couple loops for two different saws, one with a Woodland Pro bar, , cut a bunch of Oak up with it, I'm satisfied, seemed to perform as good as Oregon, it's full chisel 3/8" non-safety chain, 16 " Bar on my poulan 5020 , considering the price I paid, very satisfied

I'm happy with it as well. Like others have said, it performs identically to Oregon for me.

It is good chain. Look at it this way, you can buy the 10 loop thing from Baileys for 3.5 loops of Stihl costs. Granted Stihl is better, but it's not that much better.

It is Carlton chain. It is fine. Good value at the price that Bailey's offers. I'm not a huge Bailey's fan, but, I think this is decent product.

Well said! However, you are getting gouged on that Stihl chain if you pay DSRP. My local shop sells "three for the price of two." This puts 33RS72 at right about $20/loop. But as you said, that's still only 5 loops for $100.

You are correct Mike as the price of Steal, (intentional spelling) varies from expensive to crazy expensive. I stocked up on rolls of LGX at a price that puts 20" loops at about 8 bucks.:thumbs::p

IMHO, I rate chain quality as Stihl best, LGX very good and Carlton/Woodland Pro a good value.

Well, your advice is what I expected. I have bee buying Stihl at the NYS Woodsmen's show for $15 a loop, but didn't make it up this year. I think that the Baileys chain is at a decent price point-probably at least 75% as good Stihl at 1/2 the price.
    Thanks

Around here a Stihl dealer will run a special $1/per inch. so that's $20 vs $8 for LGX. Not much of a decision there in my book.
