Still burning "Satisfaction" (LG Granules) here - last season's stock, running in low auto-temp mode (.8 lb/hr) for about a week now, bag 5 started. Stove's running great, no issues: actually quite boring. Gotta get some new (mix/hardwood) brands to try. Time to experiment again !
hopper full of pencils (aka Ironstone Mills ) from last year, still got about a half ton of them to burn up, also got AWF softwoods, AWF hardwoods, Natures Own, Big Heats, Greenways, Kingdoms, Green Supreme, actually I don't even remember all the different chit I filled the shed with last year.
Really? Bag 5? I've been running my stoves for 2 weeks and only gone thru approximately 3 bags; 1 new bag in each hopper, 3/4 of a bag (opened last year) in the P43, plus whatever was left in the hoppers to begin with (less than a bag total between the 2 stoves). I will admit that I will probably need to add to the hoppers in the next day or two. And, I have been keeping my house cool (68*) for now - waiting for colder weather to up the temp settings.
I've only used about 2/3'rds of a bag so far. I did dump one in before leaving for work in case its fires off this afternoon. Didn't bother to check to see if we'd get any sun today. Just assumed after the weekend it would be more of the same dreariness??
Yeah I burned a few bags last year and they burned great, but this year they are making their own pellets at their mill but I don't have any of those yet.
I went right into the new stuff 802s on low and used a bag so far . I'm waiting on Lowes their trying to get me 4 tons of Somersets at 259 a ton but nothing yet . If they don't come in I'm going back to EasyBlaze at 265 ? a ton with a $ 40 delivery charge .
Yup, Honest. Was cold & rainy here on the mountain last week, but nice & toasty inside (71). We still have the window A/C units in, so that "may" have something to do w/ it also.. Been way too busy to get them removed - hopefully Wednesday. No rest for the Wicked.. Sigh.
Eagle Valley's until I move stock around. I just finished cleaning up a 14 x 12 shed so I'll be putting the Eagle Valley's, Lacrete's and the PWI super premium's in there. Then I will be burning the Okies Platinum's or the Canawick's and then on the Cubex's. Got some Rye seeds for the shoulder season for the Fahrenheit. Prices are still humming around $5.99 a bag which makes no sense at all
Been cold and rainy here too. Took the window fans out shortly after Labor Day (on a cold and windy weekend), and have had all the windows locked up tight. Plus, only one person so the outside doors only get opened a couple times a day during the week.
had a few lbs of blackstone hardwood in the hopper, and the 25 lbs of blazer from a torn bag i added yesterday. only one burn Sunday night to take out the chill. stove is on in room temp mode.
Have 2 tons of Hamer's left from last year, and Joe from Bucks Pellets is set to deliver 4 more at the end of the month. I've stopped doing much experimenting as the Hamer's burn hot and require less maintenance (ash removal and pipe cleaning) than anything I've tried over six seasons. Sticking with what I know and like except for a couple of bags of spruce and Douglas fir Joe suggests I try. Who knows - maybe he'll convert me for next year! Biggest pain is going to be moving the leftover Hamer's into an open area of a shed to make room for the new pellets (inventory rotation). Then again I'm tempted to just let last year's pellets age back there...
Thanks for the update on the Hamer's . I know one stove shop in my area that carries them , I'll be trying a few bags myself .
