Excellent! Congrat on the job. 372 is my favorite saw to run! And great on the chaps still fitting, it's been a rough summer for my waistline, hope I can still slide into mine if I get a chance to use em this fall.

Looking good buddy, you'll be set soon enough. You've got to get a feel for your surroundings and such, before you know it you'll be setup like Zap....

We have 1 neighbor on the top of the mountain, he owns about 200 acres which runs behind us and down the southern side of the mountain. At the bottom to our west we have another neighbor down off the dirt road where there are some more houses scattered about. It is very quiet, we don't hear a thing. Gunshots and chainsaws in the distance is all.......

The 372 makes quick work of any large round, I love it!

Zap is the hoarding master, along with you! If I could contract thewoodlands to help cut, then maybe. I heard he works for pie! :D

Thanks, I should get out the old mountain bike! Beautiful time of year for a ride!

Yes, it does, but I'll get there. I'm invisioning where the main hoard will go, along with the easy access stuff. savemoney brought up some good points. I think the main hoard will be down off the field in a built up cleared area at the woodline. I could stuff close to 24 cords just in that area, and where I started the stack yesterday is where the wood shed will go near where I was processing, which is right off the driveway, an area I can keep snow back and pushed elsewhere. I think i will build a 3 bay shed, two bays to hold the seasoned wood about 2- 2.5 cords each, and a middle bay that will be enclosed to hold the splitter and the woodworking tools. I'm already drawing up the plans. Don't know if I'll get to it this year yet...

Oh, we are! The last place was really great, but it was getting too busy and built up. once we drove away into town it was getting nuts......

Thanks! Woodstove unknown at this point. The NC- 30 is a value for a well built stove, a woodstock perhaps, another jotul, I just don't know! :picard:

The trail clearing is cutting in to the cutting of better wood but it did get me caught up on our shoulder season wood.

Well Seasoned , congrats on the new job.

Thanks & Same here, I need to buck some of the stuff on the trail that's just laying on its side at the moment, will be for shoulder, along with yesterday's css. I have some birch rounds I need to process, maybe today and another birch I may drop. At the moment, we are in the clouds with a chance for rain later. An area earlier mentioned will be the main holding area for all the wood, that I can easily access to pull from once the shed is built. Currently, this area has the remnents of a collapsed old shed, I need to remove. I think i can get the F 250 down there.......

    Sounds like a plan.

After I get the pine split and stacked, it's off to working on the walking trail for the boss, more chitty pine.

    Blazing trees?

Here is a close up of the main area and a picture of the trail down off the driveway. Should be a good spot once i clean up the junk wood and move the burn barrels.

From what to what? Good luck. Getting settled in you new digs is a lot of work. Hang in there. It does get better.
I hope both you and Dawn both have 4 WD vehicles. Tires with good tread, cell phones, etc. Oh yes, a generator.
My last job was unique. I was able to stay home and work at my desk. I did telehealth monitoring. Amazing what can be done with modern technology.

what ^^^^^ said if not 4wd then studded snows.. not all seasons .cell phones don't always work up heah.. in winter keep blanket gloves hat and candles in car... yes candle will keep you warn enough in cart not freeze to death and give you some light. WS your smart enough to know all this but... that's what gives Flat landers.. a bad rep.. that and the constant whining about bad cell service.. and yes the boonies still you dial up but we ware a working on it..... only meant a word to wise:handshake:

Thanks, we were both in the metal finishing industry. Dawn was a planner and I ran the warehouse and logistics. Dawn is now a service manager at a reputable power sports shop and i will be a customer service technician in the pellet, gas, and woodstove world!

Yes, we both have 4wd, cell phones and a generator.

Ha! Flatlandus! that's not the first time I've heard that........ people are mostly curious about the Amish in the flatlands. We lived in the Appalachian mtns, it gets cold and it snows there, lol! (Just not as cold and deep as here, except for last year, lol:D)

I've already told Dawn about the blankets, and a candle is a great idea. Worked wonders in a tent during 0° backpacking trips.

When your in the area.....pm me, we'll explore...

I dropped a leaning birch today over the main wood staging area for storage. So far it's all bucked, gonna clean up, have lunch, then to splitting. I left the tops for any moose that decide to make an appearance.
