2016 Trail Work

It's a White Pine, fer sur.

 

I split the rounds from the Scots Pine later today and then dumped them in the winter burn pile for the outdoor fireplace.

Tomorrow I'll split the dead White Pine I took down to make a new trail, that will go in Gasifier 's driveway.

The second to last pic is an area that needs trails which will take plenty of cleanup, I've never been back there with the rhino. The last pic is a trail which will get some cleanup and I might widen it.

 

Today we finally finished clearing our father's house out, I'm thinking the closing will be late this week or early next week.

I think that I'll make a dump of that pine at night over at Gasifier 's place.

The section that needs trails is mostly dead standing or downed trees so it won't be to bad. I did see a topped off Yellow Birch that should be taken.

 

I moved and then split the rounds from that dead pine we dropped creating a new trail the other day, two plus bucket loads for the outside fireplace for this winter.

After splitting what's left of the rounds I'll head to pic 0493, I'll start getting this trail in which will run east to west. Once I get in far enough I'll get a trail running north to south.

 

The trail the rounds came from today will but the area in the big pic has no trails. Lots of dead pine.

 

The day started off with splitting some rounds of pine (not pictured) and then I took two bucket loads to a neighbor down the road.

Pic 0501 is some butternut I split or needs splitting (CRS kicked in) pic 0502 is our pine pile (outside fireplace) that I added two loads on the leftside and pic 0503 was a small pile of splits I took to the neighbor for her outside fireplace.

I did add two buckets of pine to our shoulder season wood pile that I'll start stacking next week, didn't have the picture taker.

The backhoe for the tractor is in so we'll have it put on in about (maybe under) two weeks.

I'll be looking for areas that I can dig without damaging roots to good trees. The wife will want some sand for this winter.

It's a seat not a chair, in my opinion it's better than the crate. The legs on the seat I use are adjustable so you can make it lower or higher depending on the users preference.

You're set in your ways, I get that but because you don't like it doesn't make you right.

 

More of the same today, I added another two bucket loads to the burn pile for this winter in the outside fireplace.

Yesterday I talked with a guy at the Wood Chop Shop on a price for a snow plow for the tractor, one for a plow which is all hydraulic and another price for a plow which is a manual type angle. I told him if I didn't have the price by next week I was trading the Mahindra in for a Kubota.

 

For those of you who read this, I forgot to put the smiley in, I was screwing around. I've talked with Backwoods Savage , things are still "GOODER" between us.

We did have a nice trip to Lake Placid New York yesterday, we went to watch a family member play soccer. The fall colors weren't that great so I only took one pic of the ski jumps.

If we only could get some rain then I could start burning, it's still very dry.

 

We have plenty of rain here, a low pressure system spinning around here, flood watch.
You have brush to burn?

 

Dennis mentioned that and I saw it on the news, stay dry.

 

Looks like Detroit will be worse but we have some possible heavy stuff coming through here later
