Welcome Rook love the pic's. Looks like you have 1 heck of a start. Great job and keep the pic's of your family, wood and tractor coming we all love the pic's.
Welcome Rook Most families (mainly wives) like to get some appliances with the new place and here you come along and tell us you got a tractor with your new place. You are one lucky guy. Good looking family and the little one should be lots of help in the future.
And a pretty nice tractor at that. That tree in front can be one of those gotchas; dead in the centre so little in the way of a hing to guide it down. If you are rusty on felling, there are some nice videos; I should watch them again as I am fairly new; Dad did all the felling when I use to help him. Do you have PPE? Chaps are important, Dad saw his knee open once. Some very nice folks here on the forum gave me a pair of chaps; I never run the saw without them on. On tractors and saws and such; they are very good tools to help us get work done but they can also hurt and kill us. I feel that being a little bit scared helps me to keep from doing something stupid; although I did have a tree to throw a logging chain at me and that was not too bright on my part.
Guess I used the wrong face earlier haha two stage clutches aren't bad actually pretty nice. I'm used to the 1930's and 1940's vintage where a over run clutch on the pto is your friend especially on the bush hog
Your Ford 3400 is a lot like the Ford 2000 I have. The loader on my 2000 came off of a 3400. The chances of flipping that 3400 over with a loader on the front are not very likely and usually the tires will start spinning before you flip it. I also have a 48 Ford 8N, and the 8N is a much smaller and lighter tractor and they will flip in a heart beat if not carful with them. My Mule.
Yes, which is why I want the ROPS. I found one in New Jersey. Fasternel wants $150 to ship it, and the guy selling it wants $300. So I am sitting on it for now because that is a lot of money.
That's kinda funny, youngin.... You live in south central Va.......come on! Try the mtns. out here for size!
It looks like the 2000 shares a lot of similarities of the 3000 and 3400. I like your tractor! It really is amazing how much I use it.
Not a bad little tractor and they are not very expensive in good condition. I use the one I have for pulling things and bush hogging.
It's a classic look,I really dig them.whats the HP on them?I think the guy down the road wants $1800.
Hello Rook, nice to meet another New Englander, Great pics, I love that fire pit. You're at the right place.
Nice to meet a fellow new englander too. That fire pit was my first project when we moved in last fall.
