No frost here last night, stayed around 40F. Got up with my coffee, bacon and omelet. Sat down to read the news on the computer, and no go. Windows 10 doing a mandatory update. They do it whenever they feel like it.
On the bright side of things, I got a thing that attaches to the TV and sends the sound to headphones wirelessly. My wife watches, or has on, detective shows from early Am to late PM. I can't stand much TV. This helps keep my agitation level down. I also bought a nice set of Sony headphones. Really good sound. I can pair them with most any Bluetooth device.
Sun is shining, cool at 66F with the wind blowing. Frost again forecasted. Doubt we get it. We are on a side of a hill. Seems the frost drifts down. I can wait.

AC units are out. Long term forecast says we won't need them anymore. These past two weekends it has been cooler, and we have loads of dragonflies buzzing around.

    Top 10 day today, BTW.

Not this boy.....there is always that "Indian summer". I can't sleep when it's hot, so A/C units stay in until last possible moment.

I don't see any chance of that here. Now the boss is going for a batch of relish that calls for partially ripe matters, she uses this stuff to cook chicken in. I'm sitting this one out as it isn't as bad as what we did yesterday.

We normally don't take ours out until Mid-October. Did it early this year on account of this weekend is when we have time to do it. The forecast says mostly high 60s/70s during the day and 40s/50s at night. I hope that holds true so we don't end up wishing we didn't take out the ACs, for the reason you stated.

Okay, it was me being a spaz. Add to that the fact that you need patience (I have some, somewhere, I usually misplace it though). Today I tackled the pipe for the P61a again since it is getting colder and I want to make sure it is ready to go at a moments notice (the P43 is warming the main floor now). Worked the brush around until it slid thru the 1st 45 (with drill spinning). Then got a bright idea and opened a door on the stove and set her on test so it would blow the exhaust out. Then went back, and eventually went thru all 3 lengths. Thneh went to check if it had gotten to the second 45 that is at the stove outlet pipe connector. It had, and pretty much to the exhaust probe, so I reamed thru a couple more times to make sure everything had come out.

Then I did do a test run to make sure I hadn't FUBAR'ed anything.

P61a ready for instant deployment when called upon.

We took a trip over to Buells Orchard today. Picked up some warty gords, pumpkins, donuts, mcintosh apples, cider, and smoked cheese (yum!)

Such a cool fall day, it was gorgeous. On the way there and back, we smelled wood smoke several times. Maple, love that smell.

Today was a 3 hour shredding Zucchini marathon, while the better half screamed at the TV watching the Giants / Redskins game.

She cut, sliced, and screamed at the TV, I shredded. And shredded. :D

Finished the Heat Exchange tubes on the stove, test firing now..

    HPIM1328.JPG

Front grille, lower and side panels are still off, need to oil the motors & do another coat of stove black to the outside heat exchange front and top.

Frost in the forecast here tonight, tomato plants are covered, looks like Wednesday we'll be collecting what's left and pulling them.

A/C window units are getting taken out tomorrow. Bees, Hummingbirds, Butterflies, Dragonflies are all gone - will be mowing the lawn this week, it needs it.

We are at the start of burn season, for at least a few hours a day - the Dino Burner has been running each morning, and would much rather use the stove in the evening, vs. hearing the furnace kick on.

Where the h*ll did summer go, Stay warm all.
