Hi all, New member here, the site is great! I've managed to get all three of the Vermont softwood pellets available and will be giving them a go in the near future. Will be posting a review of all three once I get a chance to burn a couple bags of each. I believe the 802s and the Green Mountain Pellets are made by the same company but haven't confirmed that yet. Does anyone know? Finally started the stove up for the season this morning now that NH is actually having some colder nights.
Welcome to the looney bin. Can't wait to hear what you think of those pellets. Think you are right, pretty sure 802s and Green Mtns are one in the same.
i have a supplier nearby for the gn mtn (and i have a couple bags) cant wait to try them.......every time i walk by them in the celler they smell great! dont think he will be getting the 802's
Welcome to the crew. With a great choice of pellets you have there, I hope you many want to check the temperature of those different pellets. I have had a GENERAL Brand Heat Seeker Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer for three years and works well for the price of $20.00 on sale at lowes. I too, am interested in your test, and good luck with the Harman Tommy
Always good to see a New Hampshirite on the forum - and added bonus, a P43 owner. I'm sure you will enjoy those pellets.
Yes, you are correct! The 802's and the Green Mountain Pellets are from the same company, Vermont Renewable Fuels in Manchester VT. They bought the old (802 Plant) over a year ago and started with a new tweaked version of the 802's. Now they have the Green Mountain Pellets. Don't know if they are producing two pellets or not. I have a message in (today) with the delivery guy to find out when they are delivering (bulk pellets) in more northern Vermont. The GM Pellets are supposed to be comparable or better (they say) than the Vermont Softies which many will call one of the Gold Standards in SW pellets. I burned almost 3 tons of the GM Pellets last year and they kept us TOASTY and produced very little ash..... Bill
