What is it with you guys, someone says something and it "CANT BE TRUE" lol Or you have 8 brands so it can't be lol. All I was doing was trying to pass along some helpful info, where are all the men on this site?
I believed you. The ones they are selling at Lowes for $300+ certainly can't be jumping off the shelves. When Lowes did the big $99/ton sell off at the end of last season, these stayed at the $350 price point. Mill's probably sitting on a boatload of product they don't know what to do with. I was at a small local shop a few weeks ago and the guy told me his phone is ringing off the hook - distributors begging him to take product because they are overflowing with it.
Isnt lowes price he You said lowes was 315$ and 215$ delivery plus 160$ for the ton from PA? That makes 375$ for the ton. Lowes price seems better
I don't know guys. Something fishy ere Be sure your getting GT Platinums and not just the GT Premium hardwood as the e mail says.BIG difference.
hm..... I don't recall anyone saying, "CANT BE TRUE"......I think you're paraphrasing a bit there........and yep, we do sell 7-8 brands, and yep, I DO know more about pricing than you do, but I digress... I was simply replying to Pete's comment. He was stating the in New England, you don't see prices like that....that's true. Its also true that the costs of pellets in New England, and this is the cost BEFORE shipping to the dealer, is considerably more than $160/ton, which it is. Nothing untrue there. The danger of these "great deals" is that they are rarely that great. We have seen in multiple occasions in the past of unscrupulous folks putting a killer price out there, and the product never is there, or gets delivered, etc. The folks get duped, screwed, whatever you want to call it, and then are out the money for months, years, etc. Gotta be careful of this stuff these days. I dont know whomever is selling this, but, can tell you that if a deal looks way too good to pass by, then you probably should do just that....pass it by. I have nothing to gain, as I dont compete in PA at all, just pointing this out. As for the comment "....where are all the men on this site?"......I don't know what you're getting at there......
I interpreded it as $160 pick up, $215 delivered and these prices are directly from GT. Go through Lowes and the same product is $315 picked up right now. GT only makes one product AFAIK. They just market it under different names. Someone correct me if I'm off base on that.
That is sad, because in the end, it may well hurt the pellet buying process. The best climate is a stable, but competitive market. Seems energy fuels have a hard time staying anywhere near those parameters. Lets face it, we got better stoves and more varieties of pellets, when fossil fuel became too expensive. Now that it isn't so much the issue, the pellet industry is in a cooling period following its rapid growth. The wholesalers and retailers are trying to figure out the high and low water marks so they can run a reasonably stable business. Rocky's Stove Shop here in Augusta just make a huge expansion. All new retail outlet and display area. He sell wood, pellet and gas stoves. He also sells pellets. He has been successful in the past so lets home that continues.
That has to be the wholesale price Not retail then add in shipping and you are over $200 a ton and the dealer has to make a profit
You replied to Petes comment being a skeptic. I said it was direct from Greene Team in PA. I emailed the controller and it's for the Platinums. Again, just trying to share some love on here since pricing is so high normally from lowes. Again it's not " to good to be true". I'm on there email list and received just that. My source was direct from Greene team lol. I don't care if you buy them or not, I don't have stock in that company lol. My comment was for the crying woman on here. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE MEMBERS that READ everything I wrote and didn't jump to it being a fraud. Here is $645 worth.
