When you put the receiver ball thing in uou can hook the trailer way easier cause it looks at the ball perfect.

Yes and no. The bed is 50" wide, so you can still slide a full sheet of plywood or sheetrock in. The length is still the same, in my case a shortbed of 5'7". The space you loose is the small basically useless space over, in front of, and behind the two wheelwells. So I have no wheelwells in my bed, both sides are straight from front to back, right where the wheel well would normally stick out to.

So if I were to fill the bed with firewood splits, I will probably loose maybe 6 or 8 splits on each side where you would normally pack a few splits in front of the wheel wells and behind the wheelwell. If your loading with un-bucked rounds handing out the back of the truck which I like to do if the tree is not to fat... you won't lose anything. I'll snap a shot for you....

Yep if you look at the pic it makes the sides flush like a step side. The bed is flush with the inner part of the fender well all the way up to rail.

I noticed it shortly after I drove my ram. I was thinking man a trailer would be super easy to hook up now.

And that camera is very good once you get use to it, and you can stop within inches of something.

True, full size trucks have gotten bigger over the years. But the late 90s f150s were as big as the other brands 1500 trucks.

There's an 04 f150 screw at work, the guy I assisted with him buying it, and he parked close to a quad cab current gen ram, a new 16 screw, and a 2016 Chevy 4door z71 that the guy just bought. They all are pretty similar in size, but the new ones are wider and longer.

Pictures worth a 1000 words... ;) The divider in the middle of the bed (which also works as a bed extender) can be moved or removed.... It is 50" wide from side to side that you see.

First one is my MS 362. I could not slide the head to the back of the box where it is deepest and would fit best because my big dogs stick out to far, so I could not close the lid as it was sitting, it was close though. I'm sure I could flip it over or sideways or something to make it fit, OR just put the regular dogs back on and it would fit easily.

The second pic is my Echo CS-400 which fits easily. I could probably put 2 or 3 of those in there... It's pretty spacious.

    Dimensions of the box pics....

20" (deepest side, back) x 52" long x 10" wide (a bit wider down in the box).

    I assume you meant "2017 release". ?

Anyway, as mentioned, me thinks the bed walls are much stronger WITH the Ramboxes than without. Sure looks and feels like it...

Yes, that is a very nice feature.

No, I meant 2015 release of the new 2016 f150.

But yes, I would say that for the most part, the ramboxes do add more rigidity, and strength, versus the non rambox Rams.

Man that is one nice truck Machria ! If I wasn't getting a very nice price on an F150 I would certainly my be checking these out. The Ram boxes look to be a great idea and would come in very handy for most people for sure. I want to be able to put 2 4x5 round bales in the bed so I wouldn't be able to get them any way plus the cost might bump me out as well. I won't be getting near the trim level either for the first time in a long time but need to spend the money elsewhere on the farm so not a bad trade off:).

    Enjoy your new ride!
