Supposed to be in the high 50's, low 60's here over the weekend, dipping down into the 30's at night, fall has finally arrived! Couple of sunny days and I'm gonna be heading into the woods. I got a tiny head start last Saturday, cutting a little bit of beech, but I have about 5 more cords of that and a few cords of hickory and white oak that need to come out too. Been sweating out the summer and I am seriously itching to fire up the saws and have some fun!
About the same wether here with a chance of rain on Sunday. Have 2 cords of maple being delivered tomorrow so will get that stacked in the evening. Off to the woods Saturday morning to get some wood cut so we don't have to buy wood again It's going to be nice to have the cool weather
The weather here is still warm. First day of fall but feels pretty warm here. Gonna split some wood next week
I'm excited for fall too, this stretch coming up (archery season, fall festivals, woodstove fire-up, making kraut, apple pies, stew on the firepit, Halloween, Turkey season, bear season, Thanksgiving, deer rifle season, Christmas vacation, SNOWSTORMS) is my FAVORITE season!!!
I agree with that. Best time of the year is just about here. Still needs to cool off a bit, though. Highs in the 80's are a touch too warm for my blood.
Today was the first day that I heard the weather forecaster on television say "Frost". I am sure it won't here, but they are talking 32-41 degrees at night.
Won't have much time for wood this weekend, but the little time I do have, I sure will enjoy. Hope to bring a truck load or two of wood over and get it on the racks at the house. Enjoy your weekend guys!
91 here today, little relief in sight-cannot get thoughts of wood processing going in this heat, you neighbors up north enjoy, I'll join in bout November...
Still waiting for the cool weather, never mind the cold. Last nights low was 64, still running the AC during the day. Screwy weather for late Sept. in NH.
It seems so far away to need heat turned on the way the has been temp wise, I'm going to enjoy the cool/cold before I fire anything up.
By far the best time of the year. Every afternoon in a tree at 2:00 phone off leaves changing and falling. Hot apple cider with a little GrayGoose apple and a cinnamon stick. Making venison jerky ( today). Cutting trees with no bugs. Who could ask for more.
Well, I remember Trick or' Treating about 8 years back after 8" of snow. One lady opened the door and said Merry Christmas to us as she held the bowl of candy. Me and my boy got eight full truck loads of wood that came down in that wet heavy snow. Big score!!!!!!!!!!
For sure one of the best parts... I hate bugs in your ears eyes mouth nose and other places they shouldn't be when your in the woods
