Pellet heads!! What's up today?

You could do that, you have room and the ability to cope with another one or? However, then what will you do when a lost kitty shows up on your doorstep? Those are the hard ones to turn away. I say I can't have any more cats, but then I wouldn't leave one out in the cold starving. We go a long time without any strays, then they show up. Usually about this time of year. I sometimes wonder if they are drop offs because we are on a dead end road in the woods. Our shelters don't kill animals unless they are not healthy, or very nasty.

 

Yeah, using a drill. and the directions tell you somewhere around 20 times to only use forward, not reverse. Plus, I taped the connections just in case (as directed). Thanks for making sure though because I even shocked myself that I read the directions

 

I could take one more if push came to shove - small house plus a 20x50' pen for outdoor roaming (the pen is more sq/ft than the main floor of the house). There are a few things keeping me from running out and rescuing/adopting yet another (of my current cats, 1 is a former feral cat and one is a 4 Y/O I just adopted from the Animal Rescue League):

1. The fact that one of my cats has only been here since July 2 and is still settling in. There have been a few discovered issues that I have worked around, but I would like to give Rita more time to settle and me more time to understand her nature and gain her complete trust.
2. Poor Fuzzy, my former feral cat, has gone thru a lot the last couple of years (lost 4 furry friends who have passed in the last 3 years, moved to another house AND into town etc) and he and Rita are still working things out and deciding if they will be friends or just politely ignore each other.
3. I work 2 jobs and am gone during the week from 4:45 am until 9-10 PM.
4. All those rescued animals at the ASPCA (most from a cat hoarder) are still being evaluated health and socialization wise - so rushing down there now accomplishes nothing.
5. What if a stray shows up? I thought I gained one last fall, but she disappeared after a couple of weeks. And regardless, I will always feed strays because I can't not do so.

I'll know when the time is right for a 3rd. It may be tomorrow, it may be next year, it may be never. But I will know.

Pictures were not allowed in the plant. Or so said the girl at the reception desk. I get their point. They have a cool packaging machine. And the biomass plant is awesome and under startup when we were there. Thanks again for the hospitality from mwp.

 

My SS payday will be Dec. 28 this year....YAY!

 

In addition to the 2 kittens, there is a feral cat that hangs out around here all the time. Well, at least when he's hungry. He'll lay down and sleep anywhere on the property, but usually in the garage in the winter.

I am glad you allow him access. As long as he doesn't soil in there, you should get along. I have had three really expensive repairs related to mice eating wire at my car's computer. Now, I am reluctant to put the car in the garage for fear the mice will get into the car again. I would like an outdoor cat again, but I hate having them get eaten by the predators that are all around here. If one moved in on its own, I would feed it and see how it goes.

 

He's getting more accustomed to us. He lets the grandkids pet him now. This has ben going on long enough that he knows he'll get fed if he comes here.

 

I was happy when my SS day came, I had earned all the points, had a print out of what to expect. Then they said that because I had also worked civil service, that they cut the amount I was to get by more than half. . I got the points because I always worked second jobs, and even after retirement from Civil Service.
