35 pages in and it became an oil thread?

When we porting this thing and what are the gains as opposed to just a simple cat delete? :smoke:

Get the truck, tell us about it in 5 and 10 years!

Who cares what anyone thinks Machria...we all do whatever research we do and all buy the vehicle we like, think will treat us right and last forever...just like finding a wife, I may want a 600 lb woman that smells like a dead fish, Clem may want a skinny broad with huge fake tatas, Bassjam may prefer a dude, who cares get what tweaks your fancy!! Enjoy that beautiful new truck and get us some pictures soon!! Reading this post I am pretty sure I offended bassJAM but that was just random

True story.. And to get 10 miles more to the gallon!! When diesel around me is only .10 cents more than gas? Yep.. My overall yearly maintenance may be more, but I save that in fuel every year!! :) And it will last longer than that little turbo gasser turning twice the RPM..

Ford and Chevy have a Lot of gas motors with turbos now (almost every single small engine Ford makes is an ecoboost).. Soon the future will be filled with small displacement, Turbo engines to get by with emissions. So they have a lot of the same parts, but turn a lot more RPM and still don't achieve the MPG's. Wondrous why the average MPG in Europe is so high? Diesels.. A lot of them.. A whole lot!

My little Ecodiesel smells like nothing.. Literally. A gas engine stinks in the morning when warming up. This engine just has the smell of warm air.

One think I don't like and miss about the modern logging woods. There is no smell of diesel exhaust in the air anymore. I like visiting the guys who run older stuff and trucks. The woods still smell like diesel smoke!!

You win the Internet post of the year award!!!

Amen!! Buy what you want. What you researched! And what YOU think is the best!! I'm just north of ironpony in Ohio. Just North of Ashland Ohio.

You wanna stop by and we can take pics of the girls side by side :) Depending on when you come through? You could stay here as well. But weekends would be best.

According to Mitchell you can go 5000 on your current truck. The new f-150's go 10,000 miles or more before the they need an oil change.

There is no way the oil changes can cost the same. Your current truck holds 6.5 quarts of oil. A good filter is $7. The ecodiesel holds 10.5 quarts and the filter is $28. You could buy the oil and filter for your old truck for it costs for an diesel but your current truck will need it twice as frequently.

    http://www.dieselramforum.com/forum...tenance/6658-what-oil-change-costing-you.html

I'd change the oil in a Range Rover. I'm sure we don't have the oil and filter for it but we could get it.

Your right, the same goes for filters too.

What is the year, make, model, and engine does the car have? You may be able to get a Mann filter at Napa in a Mann box through the Altrom line. If you let me know the details I'll look it up for you.

It's all good, it's so easy to find the Hengst or Mann filters for 13-14 dollars. Napa and O'Reilly have them in stock lies than a mile from my house. It's an 04 Audi Allroad 4.2 40v v8. :dex:

I just changed my oil, with my factory extended oil change interval, I'll be good until 2017.

I don't see anyone saying turbos aren't reliable. They've been in the work environment for 50 years. The problem is the tier 4 crap. It will fail. Its only a matter of time. And when it does....:makeitrain" Get rid of it and the repair costs will be the same or less than these new styled gassers.

    Here are the p/n anyway:

    Mahle- ATM OX358D
    Mann- ATM HU8351X
    Hengst- ATM E355H01D109

The Hengst should be the cheapest. You can check prices at https://www.napaonline.com/. They may not have them in stock but they can get them. If they are in a local warehouse there will not be any shipping on getting them.

Wix 57279 for the 5.0 Rover oil filter. You probably do have it. If it's the older Rover, the motor is a 4.4 BMW v8. And you'll have that too.
