I've drank a few ribbons in my day. I can't do much cheap stuff myself anymore. Busch Light and High Life are the two I frequent, but usually only in the summer. Not sure if they distribute over your way, but Perrin Brewing has a lot of good beers. They're not too far down the road from me. Cellar Brewing is fairly close also. They had a great IPA that was aged in a bourbon barrel. They have a distillery on site also. So much for taxes, right?
I just love the way the word BEER gets so much comment and the thread goes sideways and everywhere else. By the way, I sat down to do bookkeeping and ended up reading all the funnies on FHC and drooling over the food pics. Think I will go and make Campinspecter happy by baking a blackberry crisp. See if I can derail this thread by mentioning FOOD!
So you derailed yourself , no bookkeeping and a blackberry crisp sounds wonderful warm with some vanilla ice cream
After you get here, Pete, you can take Campinspecter firewood cutting. He did too much this week so it will be a boring, not able to do much week for him. Campinspecter totally agrees and we are going down town and picking up some whipping cream for the crisp.
Will post pics on the Baked goods thread that Gasifier started before the holidays. or shall I post them here?
The baked good thread sounds good...or do we ask Pete to change the thread title to Beer, food and a tax question?
I'm a CPA, and I have my own acctg practice focusing on income tax preparation. Ask me in a p.m. or get my number and I'd be happy to give you some advice. More than happy to help any way I can.
Here is a teaser pic. To see the whole process, go to Baked Goods thread of Gasifier's in the Smokehouse.
I don't keep ice cream in the house as we are trying to keep our weight down. If we crave ice cream (I scream for ice cream) we go down and have an small ice cream cone from the deli in the grocery store. We try to walk down, eat there and walk back up the hill to work it off but mostly we drive down for something else and get sidetracked by ice cream! Campinspecter grew up in an area with very little refrigeration so he really likes Pacific evaporated milk (canned milk) on desserts.
If only beer/booze were deductible medical expenses I would get a fed return every year. Over the counter medication Eh I write the feds a check every year. You will not inflict penalties if you paid less than $1000 or if you paid 90% of your owed taxes as general rule of thumb... so @$1600 she'd have to owe $16,000 or greater on the AGI - which can be fudged and if it's not egregious the IRS will not bother - just claim the mortgage interest went down or the salary/bonuses were unexpected and pay it before the deadline...... Gotta love the "voluntary" imprisonment tax code
