The new pawl had some damage so I was going to put the original pawl back in the original recoil but could not find it; it was not in the tray with the original spool. I probably stuck in my pocket and forgot and it disappeared in the wash; looked around the shed and the house and no go. I drain the fluids from the saw and cleaned any sawdust from the clutch/bar area. Using a bathroom scale, the saw weight was 14 pounds (minus bar and chain of course).
What's your zipcode. You can PM me if for some reason you don't want people to pin you down to even a specific zipcode.
ok, wow did not know that they used reed valves on multi orientation set ups like a chainsaw requires. like not having a bowl on the carb.. you know. interesting
OK, I have a box; my BIL even gave me packing material to use. Do you want me to include the new used OEM recoil? I will get it boxed up and see if the weight changes much. Will measure the box as well.
Sure include the recoil. Plastic empty coke bottles are great packing they take up space, weigh almost nothing and are fairly durable.
I don't have any, I don't drink sodas. I will look but I don't have any other plastic bottles either.
Milk would work with a screw on cap (so it doesn't pop off) . But if you use milk wash it a few times so it doesn't sour too bad in route.
OK saw is packed. I did find some clean plastic bottles. Also used paper packing materials. I do have styrofoam peanuts I could use instead of the packing paper if it would help. Packaged weight came out to 17 pounds on bathroom scale. Box dimensions are 19.5 inches L, 11 inches D, 13.75 inches H.
Hard to believe that the box and packing materials added 3 pounds but that is what the bathroom scale shows.
Ok. Yea I can see it. The box probably was easily over a pound. And that recoil is probably another pound.
Do you want me to take it to the PO and get an accurate weight? That bathroom scale is probably too crude. I could do that before 5 pm when the PO closes.
Whew. Took awhile to get caught up here. I have been flat-out at work and not spending much time here on FHC. Clem alerted me that we were at a standstill with this thing. The choice is up to you guys. (As to where you send it) Get the saw here and I will get it fixed and send it back on my dime. But I am a little apprehensive as to what may be wrong as the collective think tank here has been pretty thorough.
It may just be me but the new recoil did hang up twice. I would appreciate it very much if you could look at it and make sure everything is OK; if the recoil is or is not jamming, etc. Big Hugs.
Ok I just got caught up since MM responded. Kimberly. I will get you a label bought. MasterMech this thing will be inbound to you. Kimberly pm me you email so I can email you a label. I will price USPS and Fex Ex. I will send it most economical unless MasterMech says his FedEx guy sucks or their local PO sucks? MM sending you a PM for an address.
