This and a few other trees near the trail are on the list to come down, the one in the picture is topped off and it has a widowmaker in the top, behind that is a small dead tree of some type that will come out too.

This will give us more room for the tractor or truck so we can pull down some bigger rotten pine. I'm not sure when this week we'll do it but I would like it done by Friday.

I have about four different things going on this week which don't include trails or wood. 102_0299.JPG

Sounds like you'll be busy...... Your temps go down a bit? We hit 82°F for a high today.

We're around 69 tonight and the high for today was 81 or 82, we did have a nice breeze today.

The next three nights we should hit a low of 60.

Those poor folks in the hard hit area are going to or have lost everything. I hope the best for them.

I never did get the tree in post #21 so here it is again, if it doesn't rain real hard tomorrow we'll take it down. This area has about two more dead pine we want down before the end of September.

When you head to the back of the lot the trail splits, we have some smaller pines that never will be good pines so we'll take those down too. 102_0297.JPG

We work for food. :yes:The rain is supposed to be spotty in our area tomorrow so I think I'll have enough time for the pine.

I like doing the trail work, you see your progress right away.

    Nice job!

I always liked trail work myself, planing them out, marking them in the woods, then seeing the before and after pictures. Its gratifying years from now when you drive up through the woods with your car and think, "This used to be nothing but woods".

Most of the heavy rain/storms have stayed north of us this summer, maybe this winter we'll get pounded with snow.

I haven't been up there yet, before I make the run up the hill I'll make sure it's cleared of any fallen trees, it's tough coming down that hill backwards when a tree is blocking the trail.

The property the house is on never had one trail so what's on it we did, your correct, it feels nice when you sit back and realize how much better the lot is with the trails.

The big piece of property we bought that I cut on had trails to every hill and through the ravines so it's just maintaining what's there.

Being ahead on our wood inventory (thanks to the Backwoods Savage ) gives me time to do more trail work. We still have one area west of the house which is a total mess and needs some big time hours spent just to make a trail in.
