Funny, I had a wood burner for quite a few years, and never had the problem shown in the video. I cleaned my glass with regular Rutland glass cleaner, and later on, just damp sponge w/ ashes. Weird. :loco:

must be the stove design or user error or both:D

I vac the ash off mine and hit it with glass stove top cleaner, it's a cream so rub it in, easily removes all the hard stuff. Looks like a brand new piece of glass.

You have a newer stove so your glass should have the looks of a brand new glass:salute:
Glass stove top cleaner doesn't do anything:doh:
Mine got really hazy last winter(corn?) and was scratched from day one(PO fault)
I've replaced all the gaskets on the door and want a cleaner glass to start the season with:D

My first season I had crap stuck on the glass it wouldn't come off without scraping it with a razor blade.
It sure does do something , it actually removes the impurities from the glass. Nothing I have tried cleans it that good .

I've used a razor blade, scrape and scrape and scrape. It's still foggy and scratchy so I will try the technique from the video. Having a hard time finding the cerium oxide at a smaller amount, a pound of the stuff is too much. Might have to settle for it if nothing comes my way. Replacing the glass is costly but it could be another avenue to look into or just enjoy the foggy glass.

Have you tried this? I've used a blade and nothing, rub some cream in circles then the blade all came off. I think the cream eats the crud?
