Another trip to the beech

Thought I better get back out there rather than lay around and get fat. This load gave the springs a bit of a work out coming up through the corn field, heavy rounds. Also took some measurements after unloading to see how much I have burnt. 1 3/4 cords so far.

 

Once more into the Beech.

 

I have to agree with you LP. The lot clearing I just had a few weeks ago had plenty of beech on it. They were very heavy logs compared to any of the other wood types, incl oak. Can't imagine them drying anytime soon with what they weigh.

 

I'd guess there is 2 maybe 3 more loads of beech down yet.

 

Actually beech drys pretty readily after it's split.

Yep Bogy, quite a bit different than being out there last Saturday. 35º compared to 15º. Wasn't too awful bad humping them in the truck, just from the wheelbarrow to the t-gate. I had my ramp with me but didn't have to use it. If I get back out there next weekend I probably will need the ramp. Biggest round today was just about my limit and I have another 15' feet or so to the root ball.
