    Can someone ID this owl? Sorry it is not color picture but I captured this off of a video taken with trail cam. It was almost dark so the picture was taken IR rather than color. In the video, it was first facing away and no doubt tearing apart whatever it was eating at the time.

    Yup, great horned. ear tufts and bar around eye are typical.

    I'd bet it was chipmunk, squirrel or rabbit but could not see. Could even have just been another bird. I do see a lot of squirrels from that trail cam; danged rats ruin a lot of pictures. However, the camera was too high or the bird too close to see what it was eating.
