Quality is subjective, but I disagree. Japanese cars have imo been backsliding.
I don't personally think "quality" has increased in the big 3
. But quick Googling shows trends do not support your opinion.

I HATE using and idiots mostly preach by these auto mags or companies like this because they are bought and paid for by manufacturers but here is a quick example.
2015 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS)

Those are pretty nice, BUT, at $46k with 28k miles on them, and being 2015 model years they don't compare to a BRAND NEW 2016, with Ramboxes (ford doesn't have!), full warranty, for $45k. The Fords are just priced too high. They are loosing sales this year, and it's going to get worse as Ram is pillaging them right now. ;)

That one does look nice, and great deal on it. BUT, if you look closely it was a "Lemon Buyback", which means it had lots of issues, manuf. HAD to buy it back, they maybe corrected them and are reselling again. "NO WARRANTY" YIKES!! ;)

Exactly..... and hence, I'm getting a new one. For me though, it's more about reliability. I drive 6 hours in Jan/Feb to go skiing, I want to know I can get there and back safely without a breakdown....

That's one thing that is pretty dang cool on the F150 platinum.... Wish Ram had that little feature... but not a "must have".

I am in Hebron, Ohio, let me know when you are on you're way back, you will drive by on I70 within a mile of me. We can have lunch or dinner at my place, i cook pretty good. Or if its late and you need a place to stay. Us Long Islanders have to stick together.

Don't quote me but I believe it's front end issues that has plagued dodge since forever(Killing people), a class action lawsuit is to blame since dodge can't fix the issue.
I believe there are fixes but not by Mopar.

I can say the same about my Camaro, yanking jeeps that were high centered(still has scars from the tow hook ripping its underbody) driving through snow etc.
Doesn't mean it's an awsome off roading machine lol.

I've seen and read about lots of issues with the Ram AND the Ford, but neither of them have had any "front end issues" that I have herd of.... And surprisingly, the Fords seem to be having a lot more issues than the Ram's right now. That's just my un-biased research opinion, not expert or experience....
