Worth every single penny! There is no other way to go unless you want something like a Bedrug. Has been in two trucks owned by my parents back in the 90s, and the last 3 that I have owned. I have had Rhino, Ultimate, and Line-X. All three are good, the worst is 10x better than any drop-in type liner. I think I like Line-X the best, the Ultimates (two trucks) were fairly soft and easier to chip/peel with heavy abuse. Most come with lifetime guarantees so if you chip or peel it bad, no problem. All of them will fade with time, some much more than others, really only an issue (noticeable) if you have one sprayed over the rail and use a tonneu cover or cap that you sometimes remove.

Spray-ins are good for resale too. Not only is it a fairly $$ option, the truck will look a lot better with no paint rubbed off the bed like a drop-in will do and nothing can get underneath to hold moisture and rot the bed floor.

It was rare for one of our farm trucks to see 100k. Dad's '93 Chevy 1500 W/T made it to 80k I think before the frame said "no more".

Modern day equivalent of what I think Gasifier is remembering is pretty much an F550 or GMC Kodiak C5500. Ton and a half or something like that.

They were beasts! Big V6 motors in them too. Jimmy Six! Configured in every way, anything from tow trucks to dumps, pickups, rack bodies, etc.

I highly doubt its 1/4 inch.

In-Depth with the 2015 Ford F-150’s Aluminum, Presented In an Alloy of Facts and Perspective
They used more adhesives than ever before putting things together due to dissimilar metals. I wonder if they will have problems because of it.

Some of the methods used are super old school like the self piercing rivets.
Alot of r&d had to go into it.

Ford tells a white lie with the military grade aluminum which I always get a chuckle over.

If gm does go aluminum, they were already lighter than Ford with steel, so in theory they will be lighter again.

I don't think so. It was not a dually. Probably just an old half ton that was built the way a truck should be built. Strong. May have had extra set of leaf springs on it. I don't know.

The new Titan is out (the non-XD version). Apparently it's got some sort of bed rail cargo system kind of like the Ram, that seems to be Machria's main gravitation to the Ram. I'm not sure if/when I'll have a chance to actually see one, there's only 3 listed in Cincinnati per Nissan's website and the dealerships only have factory pictures so I doubt they have them on the lots yet.

They're also offering a 5 year / 100k bumper to bumper warranty, which is nice seeing as how this is a 1st year model.

No kidding. I've said before that my Frontier has been rode hard and hung up wet, and it's true. I've treated this truck like an on and off-road beater since the day I bought it. I'm sure no Ford, Chevy, or Dodge would have lasted 10 years the way I've driven this truck, yet mine still runs great. The only way you'd know it's not been treated well is dents on the body and the rust underneath. Other than that it's a great truck still!

I have worked in a shop and around a few others . I can't beleive the neglect I saw on some japanese cars and they still ran!! Didn't see near as many ford's or chevy with the same kind of abuse , which unscientifically leads me to beleive they just can't take the same things?

No. That's my work truck. Bought and supplied to me. I just choose full size 4 door truck is all.

I own a 2001 toyota highlander as a Daily driver and my wife has a 2004 Toyota Sequoia as her DD. I also have a 1980 chevy k10 as a wood getter/tow/ hunt truck. And a 1990 ranger with over 300,000 miles that I beleive will be gotten rid of.

Sounds like your next truck (if you can call it a truck) will be a Titan or a Tundra. I would rather have your 30 year old K10. We all like what we like!

Maybe. I am not a Nissan convert yet, but they have my respect .

The highlander I have is my wife's hand me down.

I do love the second gen cummins and would love to have a 2500. But that's not practical for me, although the mileage empty would be and that's the biggest draw for me.

And the k10 has a home here forever. I wanted one of those since I was little, when I bought it I loved it and still do. As beat looking as it is I don't go a single place in it where someone doesn't want to buy it! It does have its weaknesses. I need to put some HD springs in it. Really needs the axles regeared to 3.73 or so. That 10,000 plus pound load I towed a few weeks ago with it really tested it!

Hilarious...Just playing around, I would love to have the Ford, the Dodge, the Chevy, the Toyota or the Nissan...Just don't make me buy the Ridgeline, 2016's version of the El Camino!
