If you ever go back, bring a BIG fishing rod and go after Ogopogo. Mmmmmm, smoke that slow on the bar.beee...
41 this morning. A little of the bubbling goo is burning for the showers. It will be a few more weeks before I start burning wood this year. I have too much to do to be moving wood inside right now.
46 here right now with windows just opened for the day. We have 30's up in the north country right now. Frost alert for tonight up there.
Its 34 here with an expected high of 75 today. I didnt have a fire last night as solar loading took care of most of the heat and the furnace did a little in the morning. Im going away for 3 days so the stove will be cold for a bit. Also our weather looks like it will be a bit to warm to burn which is fine by me. Weve had a number of killing frosts over the last three days so gardening is done here unless its in a green house. I posted a picture of my bean plants the day after a killer frost in the gardening thread. It has since gotten worse of course. Its ok I picked them all the night before.
We've had a few nights in the 40s. Not even enough to kick the furnace on. Lake temps smashed a record this year so we'll be warm for quite awhile. Gonna top cover my stacks today. Will wait for cooler temps to finish filling my shed and the wood room.
We had 55 this morning, after I eat the hot tomato salad, the only thing that will be burning is my azz.
My wife just did a batch of salsa. I got her to add some jalapenos so I don't have to keep adding extra sriracha sauce. Just right now and keeps the plumbing nice and clean.
I was away for three days and have been back for two. Burned last night and again tonight. Currently 44 f with rain. Im sitting in front of the stove wearing shorts of course. I guess like some other members here who have been burning for a bit we can officially say the burning season has begun.
We've again had a few cool evenings and mornings that were a few degrees above freezing (+2 to +4 C) which required glorified kindling fires. Warming up again though...
We'll be getting that privilege Friday night/Saturday night with lows close to 4 C. My wife bought a bag of pellets to try out. Going to see how they work on cool evenings for a quick fire. If they heat enough, I'll try and make some sort of pellet basket. If they don't, they'll make good fire starters.
