    For those of you with Costco's nearby you may want to go and check their brisket prices. I know it very s by location/state but my local one has "prime" grade brisket for $2.89lb, that is ridiculously cheap for prime grade

    Wow, I could grind that and still be ahead of store bought ground beef prices. Grinding prime beef. Wow. That's cheap.

    They sell ground brisket and short rib meat for $6.99 a pound near me. Way overpriced for hamburger meat. I buy Chuck steaks on sale and make my own hamburgers. Look and taste much better than the store bought stuff.

    Looked the other day, and my Costco only had flats for $5.99.

    I've seen whole brisket there for ~$3, but never when I have an extra $50 to spend.

    check your local Costco, there is talk on a bbq forum i belong to that they are under $3 in most of the country

    the flat iron steaks i buy went down by $20 a case and thats not at costco,so beef must be going down

    Your hamburger is safer also. Way less chance of it being contaminated. All those recalls on hamburger are often contaminated with E coli or listeria from contaminated surfaces or other handling errors. You have control of that in your home setting.

    not a one anywhere here. We have a Sam's Club. There is a BJ's about 30 miles away. That is it for anything like Costco.

    Last time I bought flat cut brisket Sam's Club had some for around $4.30/lb roughly in early May,which was cheap.


    Bought a 10lb whole one,cut it in 4 pieces once I got it home.Smoked 2 pieces over the summer (Doc advised me to cut back on red meat a little,so I have) & the other 2 are still in freezer triple wrapped in plastic wrap/aluminum foil.

    Remember buying a 3 pound chunk @$8/lb in summer 2015 when I wanted to splurge,but refused to buy any when it was $10/lb for same stuff in summer 2014. Knew prices would come down eventually,so I waited.

    Still at this price I'll check Costco here in a day or so,it keeps good for several months in the freezer,I get paid tomorrow. :yes:

    IIRC, you're somewhere in the sticks not far from Hocking Hills. So, Columbus?

    went into Costco today to pick up a prescription, went and looked at the meat case and seen prime brisket dropped another 10 cents from last time i was there. Now at $2.79 for Prime Grade brisket

    40 minutes south of Hocking Hills and in the sticks is a correct assessment. The closest Costco is in Columbus which is roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes away or longer depending on traffic.....

    I could walk about 3 blocks to a Costco and they indeed had them for the price listed. Just cooked one two weeks ago and it was awesome. I need to stop in and see if they're still cheap, and if so, buy a few to freeze or grind.

    Grabbed one yesterday morning,smallest one they had.In the freezer now,will have it sometime before December.Next size up was around 12 pounds.Sam's Club had theirs @$2.79/lb but it wasn't quite as nice plus they only had 3 to choose from - anywhere from 18 to 21 pounds,way too big for me.
