Hmmmm? I mean I put up screen captures? That's what I see. If I scroll the one without a price there still isn't one? Not sure what's going on?

Loaded models bring tons of profit to each brand. If you look you can get one for about half of those prices.

50k, new, fancier than anything I'd want, & a diesel. Still can't afford it.

Trucks have become a status symbol, especially diesel. People that do not haul or tow anything buy a diesel truck. It is their money and they can spend it as they wish. The price of trucks has become insane.

I've mentioned it before, but I see no reason to get something that's a year old and used when you can pick up a brand new one for just a couple grand more.

    Here's a 2016 Platinum listed for $52k near me. I'm sure they'd move a thousand or 2 lower.

    2016 Ford F-150 Platinum Milford OH 12386056

I look at the cost by how long I plan to own them, with 20,000 miles of driving a year and hoping I can get 200,000 out of it.

That puts a brand new one at 10 years of ownership, and a used with 20k on it at 9 years of ownership. Then divide the total price by the years you plan on owning it.

    New $52k truck = $5200/year

    Used $48k truck = $5333/ year

Cost wise it's cheap to just buy new in these cases.

    Or, in late 14 I bought a:

2012 3/4 Ton Silverado with PW, PL, A/C, CD Player

    $27,000 = $2700/year roughly
    (If kept 10 years.)

My cousin bought I think a 14 Silverado 1500 z71, loaded with tons of stuff. Leather, big navigation /backup screen and paid mid 40s. This was a new truck when he bought it.

At the prices they want for trucks these days I'm gonna have to stick with $1500 power co fleet auction beaters:

I like how you think Barcroftb

That truck isn't squatting much for a 1/2 ton with that load on. Must be photoshopped :p

That's because its dry ash. You should see it when I load it like that with wet oak. I always say they wouldn't have put those rubber snubbers between the axle and frame if they didn't want you to use them!:dex:

Yeah, that's where I'm at as well. With the features I want (not need) the trucks I'm looking at are in the low $40's which is still a TON of money for something that's only going to decrease in value. I've been driving my 05 Nissan Frontier for 10 years now and it still runs great so sometimes I think that I'll just keep driving it until it kicks the bucket. But at the same time, just about every 2 weeks it needs work, new O2 sensors, new wheel speed sensors, an engine code that takes a couple hours to work on, and I think that between the time and money I spend keeping my old truck running I should just get something new.

He probably got either and LT or LTZ trim level. It's amazing how much the price changes on the trucks as you go up in trim level, you can start with something in the $30's as a base level but it's still the same frame and drivetrain, and end up in the $60's when you add in things like massaging seats and magnetic suspension control!
